What is a Webkinz Webkinz are stuffed animals that can be used on the

internet as virtual pets. They come in a variety of types, each with it’s own secret code that allows access to a virtual world called webkinz world.

Internet Safety Webkinz world is a safe, predator free area for

children of all ages. Interaction is done solely within webkinz world.

Personal information is not required or allowed. Communication is pre-programmed into the system, in order to monitor what is being said between pets and members.

There are two things needed to get started: A webkinz animal Access to the internet

To get started, go to www.webkinz.com , and click on new member.

Getting Started, cont’d New members will be asked to give their webkinz a name

and decide if it’s a boy or a girl.

The next step is to enter the secret code that comes with each individual webkinz.

Welcome to Webkinz All new webkinz members receive a welcome gift that

contains: a special food dish specifically designed for each pet, kinzcash that can be used to decorate a new room for the webkinz, and a toy.

Webkinz World While exploring webkinz world, children are exposed to

some really cool games that are not only fun, but educational as well.

All of the games in webkinz world are designed to introduce children to mathematics, reading, comprehension, problem solving, and many more educational opportunities.

cards available for children and their pets.

By using the chat and interactive rooms, children can make new friends while extending their learning opportunities.

Webkinz Task Bar Webkinz world has a task bar titled “Things to do”, that allows

it’s members to see what sort of activities are available each day.

This task bar also helps members keep track of how their pets are feeling; making sure members pay special attention to the needs of their pets. By doing this, webkinz world is teaching it’s members how to be responsible owners.

Earning Kinzcash Another important concept that webkinz world teaches

children is money management. By playing different games, the children are not only having fun, but they are earning money called kinzcash.

Webkinz world members soon realize they need money to purchase items such as food, clothing, furniture etc. for their pets in order to keep them happy and healthy.

Earning Kinzcash The only way to buy food for their pets is to earn money by

playing games.

Children also learn how to prioritize things such as food over toys. If there is something special they would like to buy, they have to earn the money first.

Webkinz Games Webkinz world has a variety of games available to play

any time a member chooses. Each of these games not only gives the opportunity to earn kinzcash, they also have different levels of play that challenge the students to use thinking and problem solving skills.

Webkinz Tournaments As an added bonus, webkinz offers tournaments that can

be played between other members on a daily basis.

These tournaments allow members to challenge each other in specific games/areas that are not available through the daily games.

Because these tournaments are more challenging, the prize money that is earned is usually a higher amount also.

Webkinz Employment Webkinz members can go to the webkinz employment office to

find even more challenging and rewarding opportunities.

Members can sign up for one job opportunity every eight hours. Once they have completed a job their results are posted on a resume , just like in a real- life scenario.

resume, Webkinz world will start offering higher pay for jobs. If they don’t succeed, the amount of pay will be reduced.

Education for Higher Learning A nother great educational opportunity for webkinz members is the

Kinville A cademing for Higher Learning.

This is a form of college where members are challenged in different fields such as critical thinking, sports & fitness, and special talents.

Once they have completed ten levels in the six basic courses, they will earn a Kinzville A cademy diploma.

Other Webkinz Opportunities Webkinz world has many opportunities for learning off line

as well. Some examples are: crafts, trading cards, on-line shopping, a parents information area, a customer service area, and a bulletin area.
