Creative BriefBackground: The company Trading Musician

located in Seattle, Wa has been around for 20+

years offering music equipment to musicians within

the region. As time continues their brand and market

presence seemed to have trouble keeping up and

need guidence with a new design.

Objective: Rebrand of Trading Musician for the future

and a redesign of their existening ecommerce site.

Target Audience: Concious and Aware musicians from

all creeds and backgrounds. Students to Enginners in

the music industry, or simply collectors looking for rare

equipment. Bands on tour, and customers looking for

affordable instrument repair.

Dont forget the customers who are currently making

music , just starting out, or need a new addition to the

studio.

Promise: We promise to revitilize and ignite the brand

and market presence with good design.

The home pagehas many categoires to choose from however the color choices and minimal design loses attention to detail eliminating the users experience during his or her visit. There are too many hyper links leading the user where he probably shouldn’t be headed. The overall design lacks continuity, form and function when compared to the modern user interface standards.


When selecting an instrument from the gear optionupon selecting the instrument an initialmenu is then presented with a subcategory of that item .

This menu selection can be better defined and organized than having mutiple layersof subcategories to dig through when browing the product.


The product item menu is then listed afterselecting your category of choice

The product menu seems to lack continuity with spotty image feathering and tiled imagery in the background hurting the users vision.


After selecting the product you move on to purchase the itemor look at the reviews to inform the customer.

There is actually no way to make a purchase from the siteonly direct emailing can be initialized.

The concept of a having a ecommerce site for a business is to create more revenue for the potentional grow of that business. With this design and inability to make a purchase on the site , the business takes excesive damage in the market.

The Trading Musician is A full-line music store, offering a wide variety of new, used, & vintage musical equipment in all of their departments. First starting out in 1991 this prosperous music store has been offering musicians what they need for years. This company remains in the low brow, like a special comic book waiting to be auctioned , this store makes all musicians dreams a reality.

However their brand seems to lack customers and online track, and causing their profit margins to run red. They are in need of strategic design to help solve those problems with a new commerce site and brand identity.

The rebrand consist of a new direction to help attract more customers

while retaing the customer base they have today. This new identity will

not loose the persona of what Trading Musician’s goal is in the world of

music and as a growing business. It will project it louder

than ever. Let the melodies of this brand take action.

The mark represents the brands passion for bringing musicans closer. It signifies more than just an icon describing what they may have in stock .This tells a story of playing in a garage band, or on a stage in front of thousands of people. for a dazzling array of tonal choice. The compound radius fretboard that modern guitarists

the high-mass tremolo block that increases sustain; locking tuning keys; and a molded case with

glass-reinforced latches and TSA locks.
