Eagle’s Wings Foundation
Be The Wind Beneath Their Wings
Eagle’s Wings Foundation (EWF) is a US, 501C3, non-profit organization conceived and organized by the late Jim McCarthy who was a long-time Universal Vacation Club (UVC) Member. UVC Members have teamed up with their resort owners, the Villa Group Resorts, to financially strengthen EWF. EWF’s mission is to provide financial assistance to charitable groups in the cities and neighboring areas of Villa Group Resorts in an effort to "give back" to the communities that have provided so many years of wonderful vacation memories in our "Homes Away From Home." All Villa Group properties coordinate fundraising and donation efforts in their respective areas for EWF
• Since its inception, EWF has granted to charities more than $2,000,000.
• EWF maintains a very low overhead expense rate.
• All organizations are carefully screened by the EWF Board before a grant is awarded.
• All grant monies help people directly and are not used for salaries or administrative costs.

Eagle’s Nest Thrift Store
The Villa Group Resorts periodically replace linens, kitchen goods, and furniture that are in good condition but no longer suitable for hotel operation. These are donated to needy families, with excess items donated and sold in the thrift store located in Pitillal, adjacent to Puerto Vallarta. The net proceeds from the Thrift Store are distributed to EWF for grant distribution.
Education & Scholarships
In Mexico, children who finish elementary and junior high school no longer receive state support. This affects the drop-out rate and supply of basics like paper, books and erasers. To allow more children the opportunity to continue their education, EWF purchased two buses to provide transportation to students in rural areas. EWF grants individual scholarships each year based on need and achievement, and contributes to the public library system that serves as the primary educational resource for most students.
Medical Care
EWF helps support many medical facilities and programs. These include free clinics, pharmacy services, prenatal care, nursing materials, medical and dental support for underprivileged children, rehabilitation services, medications for children with cancer, and much more. These facilities jointly serve more than 3,000 patients each year.
Programs for the Mentally and Physically Challenged
EWF provides assistance to rehabilitation centers for both adults and children. The children's programs serve the needs of hundreds of severely mentally and physically challenged children on a daily basis. Medical care, dental care, physical therapy, and speech therapy are included as part of the many programs provided at no charge.
Orphanages/Shelters
EWF supports facilities that care for those suffering the most—children without families, the homeless, and victims of domestic violence. Donations provide for basic food supplies, furnishings, children’s musical instruments, women and children’s betterment programs and more.
Elderly Assistance
Our donations are used to provide basic necessities such as food, medical attention, clothing, etc. We also provide much-needed funds for construction and refurbishment projects of the facilities.
