EUCHARISTIC ADORATION In a world where there is so much noise, so much be-

wilderment, there is a need for silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the Host. It is a source of comfort and light, particularly to those who

are suffering. –Pope Benedict XVI

Adoration is our opportunity to rest in our Lord’s presence. Refuse to let your relation-ship with God be reduced to duty and obli-gation. The grace bestowed upon us by the

Holy Spirit allows us to have a love affair with God in Jesus Christ. Rekindle your passion for Jesus by

spending time with him in Eucharistic adoration.

To become a regular adorer or to be added to a substi-tution list, please contact

Ricardo and Teresita La’O at (636) 391-1997.

PROCLAIM THE RISEN CHRIST

On Easter morning everything—the spring weather, the flowers, birds and bu erflies, the people around us in their finery, the beau ful liturgy and music—everything seems to bear witness that Jesus Christ is risen today! Like the eyewit-ness accounts in today’s scriptures, the glorious and joyful life all around us helps us to believe the good news of the Resur-rec on and sing “Alleluia!”

In the scriptures today we hear from Peter and Paul and John. All three speak with convic on about witnessing the resurrect-ed Christ. John’s Gospel account includes Mary of Magdala, who also was privileged to witness the Resurrec on and tell others the good news. On this glorious Easter Sunday can we ourselves give eyewitness accounts that Jesus Christ is risen today, alive and ac ve in our lives? Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD APRIL 1, 2018

Ministry of the Month: Legion of Mary What is the Legion of Mary? The Legion of Mary is a world-wide Catholic lay apostolate associa-

on of men, women and youth called to serve God and His Church, praying and working with Mary and the Holy Spirit for their own sanc fica on and for the conversion of the world.

We are called legionaries, not because we are conten ous, but be-cause of the structure of our organiza on and because with courage and loyalty, we are a powerful group with a common mission to spread the good news in service of the Church. We are made ready for spiritual warfare. The Legion’s strength is the power to do good rooted in the strong faith of each individual obtained from the store-house of the Church’s grace. We love Mary and imitate her with our sleeves rolled up.

Started in Ireland in 1921, the Legion of Mary is now worldwide. It presently has a membership of some 3 million ac ve and 15 million auxiliary (praying) members. It is the largest Catholic apostolic organiza on of lay people in the Catholic Church and is rec-ognized by the Holy See as Interna onal Associa on of the Faithful.

The Legion of Mary consists of two totally different memberships, the Ac ve and the Auxiliary members. Both of these are essen al to the legion. Auxiliary members are our prayer warriors. They support the Legion by praying the booklet of legion prayers daily. What does an ac ve member of the Legion do? Ac ve Legion membership requires a endance at the weekly mee ng and a minimum of 2 hours of weekly apostolic work. We are instructed, trained, and sent out in the name of Christ from his church to offer the treasures of the faith to all within our parish boundaries. All our mee ngs and ac vi es are guided by the Handbook of the Legion of Mary and the pastor.

We meet weekly in small groups. We pray, report, and learn. The Holy Infant Legion of Mary meets on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 in the Holy Infant room.

Apostolic assignments can be any apostolic work approved by the pastor. We may teach classes or run spiritual groups. We all visit door-to-door within the parish boundaries: homes of new parishioners and shut-ins. We keep in touch with alienated, luke-warm Catholics and those who have ceased to prac ce their faith. We also visit hospitals, prisons, and nursing homes. We console the bereaved, and we offer to all the fullness of revealed truth and the power of love with respect, companionship, encouragement and the support of prayer.

The Holy Infant Legion of Mary has another important task for the whole St. Louis Archdiocese. We make rosaries to give away and help groups to make their own rosaries. We help others learn the importance of this most powerful Marian prayer and how to pray it. Why join the Legion of Mary? Our work is done for God in union with Mary in the grace of the Holy Spirit.

Membership in the Legion of Mary is guaranteed to: • Develop your prayer life. • Help you become a saint. • Give you a way to help Our Blessed Mother Mary care for her family.

Ac ve membership in the Legion of Mary is guaranteed to: • Be decep vely simple. When a man or woman does two hours of apostolic work each week, it changes your life. • If you are already serving the parish, it helps you improve your apostolate. • Increase your knowledge of the Catholic Faith. • Train you to become an apostle, stand up for the faith and to bring that faith to others. You pray and are guided, so you don’t worry. • Help you to mix with people you wouldn’t otherwise meet. • Help you see and serve Christ in everyone you meet, and bring them closer to Christ. Through you, Mary will con nue to tend and serve her son, and to bring the Word of God - Christ - through the Church – which is the Body of Christ - to each person that you serve.

Please consider giving a Blessed Prayer Shawl for the following occasions: • Star ng school • Gradua on • New Job • Engagement • Wedding • Expec ng a baby or adop on • Illness of self, family, friend or a child • Loss of a loved one • Stress

Giving a Prayer Shawl is all about sharing God's love with others. So how about giving a Prayer Shawl to someone who needs to feel wrapped in God's love? It can be for an adult, a child or even an infant. In this season of God's love, share His love by giving a blessed Prayer Shawl, which was prayerfully made by a caring parishioner! There is no fee, but yarn or dona ons are welcome! Prayer Shawls can be found in the Adora on Chapel 24/7; the usher's closet dur-ing the weekend Masses or at the parish office during office hours.
