Demonetisation impact in Indian e-commerce
Market researcher eMarketer has cut its growth projection for Indian e-commerce from 75% to 55.5% for the calendar year 2016, citing the impact of demonetisation on order volumes.
A representative for Amazon said the company is “working on alternatives to make doorstep payments easier for customers by introducing a variety of electronic payment options.”
Taxi aggregator Ola’s digital wallet, Ola Money, said wallet recharges had increased by 1,500% since the announcement.
The focus is that demonetisation transcends into digitisation.
