Achieving safe, efcient, comfortable air trafcand airport operation

NEC provides the best solutions based onits wealth of knowledge and technologyacquired over more than half a century.

NEC Airport Solutions - contributing to thegrowth and development of air trafc in Japan

Due to the globalization of societies and economies, the roles by airports and air trafc become increasingly important each year.

NEC has a history of more than half a century in system development for all areas of air trafc service,

including air trafc control systems, as well as over 40 years of experience in system solutions for

the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

Based on immense knowledge built up during this time and the latest technology,

NEC creates solutions for all areas of air trafc service.

Safer, more efcient, more comfortable.

From proposal to development and provision of a variety of systems,

NEC carries out the entire process to promptly provide the kind of air trafc that societies and the times demand.

DatalinkDatalink

Aeronautical equipment, which utilizes very high frequency waves and provides bearing information to the aircraft.

Utilizes radio waves to measure the distance between ground station and an aircraft, and provides estimated time of arrival.

Navigation aid utilizing directional radio waves to display the runway approach course.

ASR:

SSR:

Located in the airport , monitors an airborne aircraft within its coverage area and provides its positioning information to air trafc controllers

Sends a request information to each aircraft within its coverage and receives unique response signal containing information, such as aircraft identication, altitude or emergency event, which is then displayed on radar terminal.

Radio navigation aid system based on differential GPS technology.

This system provides high security with monitoring camera and sensors.

Advanced face authentication technique provides smart gate system.

Multimedia network is able to integrate distributed camera systems.GSMS receives GPS orbits information and GPS operational status of each satellite, and predicts RAIM service volume for the prescribed airspace, in where aircrafts are allowed to apply RAIM system for their navigation.

VHF radios are used as means of communication between pilot and air trafc controllers.

Air Traffic Services MessageHandling System

ATFM Simulator has been designed as a training tool to validate efciency of airport ATFM in order to better estimate the departure time of each airplane and predict congestion situation at arrival airport.

NEC Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) system has been developed to provide and manage the aeronautical related information such as ight plan, NOTAM, weather information, e-AIP generation and others, in accordance with ICAO Annex 15.

System designed to monitor and control air navigation facilities. Information control function provides feedback necessary for continuous reliability improvement.

Example of air trafc ow enhancement after ATFM

simulation

AFTN/AMHS enables global exchange of ground to ground aeronautical messages in between different states, utilizing X.400 standard, in accordance with ICAO recommendations.

Aeronautical radio facilities Partsand Provision System

System designed for efcient management of aeronautical parts. Equipped with database to assure up-to-date status of required parts and easy access to necessary information.

This system is able to combine management of the transmission of information.

This system provides ATIS and wide area information to aircraft. It connects to ACARS and CADIN networks and accumulates ATIS, PREP, VOLCANIC, DCL and urgent NOTAM AEIS information for multiple domestic airports managed within CADIN. By providing information as text, this system reliably transmits information to pilots.

Bird Detection System

Bird Detection system monitors activity of birds within the airport by utilizing radar, camera and advanced image processing technology. Based on the obtained information, the controller directs bird patrol personnel to drive away birds and implement necessary preventive measures.

Provides real-time information essential for passengers, such as ight information, announcements, weather reports, and news.NEC FIDS built on open mission-critical system architecture (OMCS) and Universal Design (UD), assures maximum reliability and visibility of important information at critical areas of the airport.

The system supports the staff to make a schedule of block in and out of each airplane, considering stand situation (open or occupied) and the size of an aircraft.
