Halloween’s Day

Halloween has its origin in the Celtic festival of Hallowmas, a celebration of the beginning of a new

cycle of the Wheel of the Year. Lore has it that the veil between the world of the living and the dead

is at its most transparent during Halloween night, and therefore the spirits of the dead, fairies,

witches and goblins roam about. At DWPS, we seek to rekindle the light of Halloween through our

in-school celebrations. It was celebrated on the 31st October with a fun filled exciting fancy dress

parade in the Kindergarten wing. There were very happy Superheroes, Fairies, Witches, Goblins

and other interesting characters walking around. Excited faces were seen everywhere as children

posed for photographs to the equally thrilled teachers.

Children entertained the school who were watching with some Halloween songs and then

proceeded to walk around the school parading their costumes. After the parade, children and

teachers adjourned to their respective classroom.

The children had a wonderful time and seen smiling happily as they left the school.
