Walk for Dunning A walk around the field/track for which the students collect sponsors

Students may collect pledges…we set a small goal ($5.00) each with 100% of the money collected donated into the PE program.

Hold it during Physical Fitness week on Annual Walk to School Day

Encourage parents to come walk with their children and sign the Fitness Pledge

Have a large banner with a Fitness Pledge for students and parents to sign

Invite a kid-oriented fitness program (ie. Itty Bitty Yoga) to come to an ‘opening ceremony’ type of assembly and get the kids pumped up

Collect gently used shoes for Souls4Shoes – they provide the collection box and have a drop off location in Natick so we wouldn’t have to ship

2012 PTO Open Positions

Executive Board

Vice PresidentShall act as aid to the President, and perform the duties of the President in the absence of that officer. The Vice President shall meet monthly with the Treasurer to go over the account and budget. The Vice President will obtain building permits for events held outside normal school hours.

Corresponding SecretaryThe Corresponding Secretary shall keep all members accurately informed of all activities including the copying and dissemination of all flyers to the school, will send out group emails to the Dunning PTO members as needed, and will perform such other activities as shall be delegated to the office by the President.

Committee Chairs

BeautificationPlants flowers in the front of the school and out by the sign in the Spring and Fall.

Scholastic Book Fair – Preferably Co-ChairsPlan, organize and run the Book Fair. Includes marketing the fair, recruiting volunteers to help with set up, sales, break down etc.

Creative Arts

Pasta Dinner – Need a Co-Chair to work with Andrea Dunn

Playground

Spirit Wear (this is a non-order year) Maintain Spirit Wear inventory. Collect Spirit Wear orders from the mailbox and retrieve merchandise to deliver to student’s class. Set up and sell Spirit Wear at various events through-out the year.

Walk-for-DunningCoordinate and plan this event. Market it to the students, plan opening ceremony, recruit volunteers, etc.

INITIAL GOALS

To educate parents on what the PTO is all about.

To allow parents access to more information faster vs. having to seek out a chair to ask a question.

To inform/educate parents on the importance of the fundraising the PTO does.

To increase awareness that we truly do welcome everyone!

When parents subscribe to the blog they will receive this email which provides them with a way to manage how/when they receive notifications so they may receive as many or as few updates as they choose.
