Trivalent Chromium Plating Anodes Frederick Gumm Chemical Co. Kearny, N. J.
Envirochrome EC 10 anodes have been specially designed for use in
Gumm’s trivalent chromium plating system. The use of these specially coated anodes allows these baths to be operated without the need for the spe- cial anode box previously required. Use of these anodes greatly reduces bath maintenance, while at the same time, increases the throwing power of the bath.

PVC Ductwork KCH Services Inc. Forest City NC
KCH Services has received Factory Mutual approval for its polyvinyl chlo- ride (PVC) ductwork as a feasible al- ternative to fiberglass reinforced plas- tic (FRP) ductwork. As a result, the need for fire sprinklers in PVC duct- work is nonexistent. The new KCH unplasticized PVC duct does not bum readily. It softens and melts under the heat of the fire, causing the PVC duct to collapse onto itself, starving the fire. The PVC is an inert, homogenous ma- terial extruded into uniform sheets and/or various shapes that can be formed, cut, machined, heat welded, or solvent welded with no change in physical or corrosion-resistant proper- ties.

Water-Based Coatings Magni Group Inc. Birmingham, Mich.
Magni Series W41 single-compo- nent coatings have extremely low VOCs. Application is by conventional spray or dip/drain. The coatings can be applied over clean, bare steel, or phos- phate. Cure is quick in ambient air. At low heat (150 to 200°F) they dry in seconds to a tack-free finish. The typ- ical recommended film build for W41 is 2 mils, where the coating delivers 500 hours of salt spray protection. Magni W41 coatings are black and are formulated in low to high gloss. They are flexible, chip-resistant, and moder- ately heat-tolerant in service.
