When you ask us to find a member of staff for you, we will first complete a detailedcustomer needs analysis, and then:

• Visit your organisation (if it’s the first vacancy we are handling), to ensure we gain an appreciation ofthe company culture, environment and OH&S etc

• Take a full job brief and ‘person specification’ - The details of the role are important, but equally important for us is knowing the type of person you are looking for

• Search our extensive database of fully vetted candidates and advertise, where appropriate, using our own and independent jobs boards

• Conduct a 150-point skills test, right to work and fatigue management tests, plus any other specific tests required

• Match candidates to your specific requirements and brief them about the job, to establish interest and commitment

• Conduct a detailed telephone and face-to-face interview with all candidates

For permanent appointments, we will also:

• Produce a written candidate summary on each suitable candidate, using information gathered during the interview

• Provide you with a short-list, the candidate’s resume and our written candidate summary

• Arrange an interview at a time to suit you

• Liaise between you and each applicant through to job offer, acceptance and commencement onto your payroll

• Carry out post-placement follow-up with both you and the candidate

• Complete role-specific psychometric testing, where required

We areconstantly working on new ways to enhance the service we offer our customers around the worldthrough the smart use of technology.

eAssessmentsDriver Hire eAssessments is a range of onlineproducts designed especially for the logisticsindustry to help you effectively manage worker riskfor your drivers. The system allows you to screennew workers and determine the knowledge levels ofyour current employees in a variety of subjects, andto understand their training requirements.

Our eAssessments are mobile device compatibleand make use of eLearning technologies includingaudio, video and interactive puzzles. Eachassessment has a minimum of 50 questions, whichcandidates work through, and are given animmediate response to their answers.

More importantly, when they get a question wrong,they are shown the correct answer. Our ‘Check+’system then rephrases the question asks it againlater in the assessment to re-affirm their knowledge.

Licence CheckingOur innovative online licence checking systemenables managers to verify the driving licence statusof all of their drivers at a glance, using a ‘traffic light’notification dashboard. The system checks licencesto ensure that each driver holds a correct and validlicence for the vehicles they are driving.

Regular checks are carried out automaticallyaccording to a schedule set by the user, and thesystem provides an alert if there is anything themanager should be aware of. This system helps toenhance safety, risk management and legalcompliance for Driver Hire customers.

dh Licence check relies on a direct feed from theUK’s Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. We planto roll the service out to other countries as thisbecomes possible.

Agency Management System (AMS)This web-based tool allows you to manage all of your agency staff requirements online, and is particularly useful forlarge, multi-site organisations who use temporary staff on a regular basis.

AMS can be used to:

Driver Hire’s Training department provides a wide range of training services for ourclients and candidates working within thetransport and logistics industry.

We operate in a heavily regulated industryand we know how difficult it can be fordrivers and other staff to keep up to speedwith the rules that affect them while theyare at work. At the same time, we believewe have a responsibility to our customersto provide staff that are fully aware of (and comply with) all relevant legislation.

Flexibility We won’t pin you down to a particular date ormake your drivers travel miles for their training.We’ll work with you to find a date and venuethat suits your business. We can even cometo you, if you have appropriate facilities. We will also give you a choice of modules soyou can choose the subjects that you thinkwill be most useful.

In addition to our classroom-based training service we are pleased to introduce Driver HireAustralia’s range of eLearning services, which are specifically designed to address key issues fortransport operators. Our aim is to help your fleet run more efficiently and profitably.

We currently offer eLearning courses in Fuel Efficient Driving and the Daily Walk Around Check.Our courses are designed to be fun and interactive, to ensure that drivers engage with the courseand learn effectively. Both courses provide an assessment so that you can see the learning thathas taken place.

Fuel Efficient DrivingFuel bills account for around a third of the total cost of running a transport operation, and thesavings that can be made by driving in a more fuel efficient way can be really significant.

Our course concentrates on three key areas where fuel can be saved: actions to take beforesetting off, techniques for driving on the road, and actions to take when back at base.

Daily Walk Around Check85% of all defects found in roadside inspections could have been avoided if the driver hadcompleted their daily walk around check correctly. These checks not only improve safety for thedriver and other road users, but also help to increase legal compliance and can reduce vehiclemaintenance costs.

This course shows learners why the checks are so important, what features need to be checkedinside and outside the vehicle, and the actions to take if any defects are identified.
