THEME – CONSERVATION OF RESOURCES

Conservation is the preservation or efficient use of resources. Natural Resources are referred to as land

or raw materials that occur naturally within environments that exist relatively undisturbed by mankind in

a natural form. Natural Resources are derived from the environment. We need to conserve our natural

resources because it is the main source of our daily needs and because they are exhaustible. And if these

resources are abused and harmed, we will have short quantity of sources for food and living. So, “

Conservation of Resources is the need of the hour.”

ENGLISH

1. Design a poster to encourage the people around you to save our natural resources.

Few suggestions-

A3 size sheet should be used.

Illustrations (drawings)/ cutouts should be used to make it colourful and interesting.

Use a slogan to make it more attractive.

Write your Name/Class/Section behind the poster.

Few examples are given below

1. Handwriting with pen and paper plays an important role from early childhood through our adult lives.

Even in the age of technology, handwriting remains the primary tool of communication and knowledge

assessment for students in the classroom. So, let us refine our fine motor skills by doing 15 pages of

English handwriting this summer. Few guidelines-

Please use a thin notebook for the same

A pen should be used for writing (no ball point pens).

Students will be assessed on the letter formation, neatness and clarity of the content.

2. Books are our best friend

Life is not easy to live without friends. When it comes to Books, they can be our best friends ever. Good Book

enriches our mind with good thoughts and knowledge just like a good friend. We cannot feel alone in the

company of books. We can learn many good things while reading a good book. Let us make a new friend by

reading a new book this summer. Few guidelines-

Read a story book of your choice.

Write the summary (150-200 words) of its story, in your own words.

Design a book cover (as per your choice) for the same.

There will be a presentation in the class, for the same, and students will be assessed based on neatness

and clarity of the content.

Choose 15 new words from the book that you have read and write down the meaning, synonym,

antonym and frame a sentence using the word. (use the table below to do this activity)

by government, suggestions with your creativity.

Resources are features of environment that are important and of great value to human in one form or the

other. However, the advancement of modern civilization has had a great impact on our planet's natural

resources. As human population increases, natural resources and habitats become more limited. So,

conservation of natural resources has become very essential today. There are many ways to conserve

natural resources. All we need to do is to look around and see what natural resources we are using and

find out ways to limit our usage.

Let’s find out how do we utilize our resources like water and what can we do to conserve resources. The

home work has to be done in a notebook.

Colony water trip-

There is scarcity of water in Delhi and NCR. So, conservation of water is essential for every citizen.

Every house is getting water from either municipal or private organisation.

1) Find out the source of water you get at home

2) Do you have a water meter at your house?

3) If yes what does it look like? Draw and label a water meter.

4) What are the measurement units used in water meter?

5) What is the name of the institution supplying water?

6) Collect water bill of your house. Find the total consumption in a month. Check out the rate of water

per unit consumed. Photocopy the bill and attach it to the activity.

7) Draw a map of water flow into and out of your house with major stops like overhead tanks,

washrooms etc.

1. Lets join our hands together to conserve our aquatic animals and plants –Make a poster by depicting a

picture of a zoo and label the animals in French

General Instruction :-

A3 size sheet should be used.

Nice and neat border should be made on the sheet.

With the use of origami sheet or paper foldings make plants and animals to give your picture or

poster a 3d look.

You can put slogans in that and it could be like a poster.

You can also stick few stickers to make it more interesting.

Create a PowerPoint presentation on “Conservation of Water and Energy in our Day to Day Life”.

Give suitable title to your slide.

Add pictures to enhance the presentation.

Font Size for the Title slide should be 48

Font type for Title slide should be Cooper Black.

Add suitable animations and slide transitions to enhance the presentation.
