    Notes on LCD screen Do not press against the LCD screen. The screen

    may be discolored and that may cause amalfunction.

    Exposing the LCD screen to direct sunlight for along period may cause malfunctions.

    The LCD screen is manufactured using extremelyhigh-precision technology, so over 99.99% of thepixels are operational for effective use. However,there may be some tiny black points and/or brightpoints (white, red, blue or green in color) thatconstantly appear on the LCD screen. These pointsare normal in the manufacturing process and do notaffect the viewing in any way.

    Images may trail across on the LCD screen in a coldlocation. This is not a malfunction.

    Lets get the photo frame ready

    Remote control

    Pull out the protective sheet before use as shown in thefigure.

    Using the remote controlPoint the top end of the remote control towards the remote sensor on

    the photo frame.

    Stand

    Screw the stand into the screw hole firmly until the standstops turning.

    You can set the photo frame to portrait or landscape orientation byrotating it without moving the stand.

    P Notes If the remote control stops

    working:Replace the battery (CR2025lithium battery) with a new one.

    When the lithium battery becomes

    weak, the operating distance of theremote control may shorten, or theremote control may not functionproperly. In this case, replace thebattery with a Sony CR2025lithium battery. Use of anotherbattery may present a risk of fire orexplosion.

    z Tipsx When the photo frame isplaced in the portrait orientationIf you set the photo frame with itsoperations buttons facing upwards,

    To display the photo frame on the wall

    1 Prepare screws (not supplied) suitable for the screwholes on the rear panel.

    2 Screw the screws (not supplied) into the wall.Be sure the screws (not supplied) protrude between 2.5 to 3mm(1 / 8 inch) from the surface of the wall.

    3 Hang the photo frame on the wall by fitting the hole onthe rear panel to the screws on the wall.

    P Notes Use screws suitable for the quality

    of the material of the wall. Thescrews may be damaged,depending on the type of materialused in the wall. Set the screws in

    a pillar or stud in the wall. When you want to re-insert thememory card, remove the photoframe from the wall, then eject andre-insert the memory card whilethe photo frame is placed on astable surface.

    Remove the stand and store it inthe space for storing the standprovided on the rear when youhang the photo frame on the wall.

    Since a magnet is contained inthe space for storing the stand,you can keep the standattached to the portion.

    Connect the DC cable of the ACadaptor to the photo frame andhang the photo frame on the wall.

    Then connect the AC adaptor tothe wall outlet.

    Turning the photo frame on

    1 Insert the plug of the AC adaptor into the DC IN 5 V jack on the rear of the photo frame.

    2 Connect the AC adaptor to the wall outlet.The photo frame is automatically turned on.

    PUSH tab clicks when theAC plug is slid firmly intoplace.

    P Notes The socket outlet should be as close

    as possible to the unit, and easilyaccessible.

    Do not place the photo frame on anunsteady or tilted surface.

    Connect the AC adaptor to an easilyaccessible wall outlet close by. If trouble occurs while using theadaptor, immediately shut off thepower by disconnecting the plugfrom the wall outlet.

    Do not short the plug of the ACadaptor with a metal object. Doingso may cause a malfunction.

    Do not use the AC adaptor placed ina narrow space, such as between awall and furniture.

    Insert the plug of the AC adaptorfirmly, if the connection is loose,the photo frame may turn off whenit is moved.

    After use, remove the AC adaptorfrom the DC IN 5 V jack of thephoto frame, and remove the ACadaptor from the outlet.

    Do not turn the photo frame off ordisconnect the AC adaptor from thephoto frame before the standbyindicator turns red. Doing so maydamage the photo frame.

    The AC plug may be removed fromthe AC adaptor main unit bypushing the PUSH tab. Whenusing the AC adaptor, however, youdo not have to remove the AC plug.Make sure to use the AC adaptorwith the AC plug firmly attached. If the AC plug is removed, slide it intothe AC adaptor main unit until itclicks into place as illustrated.

    The AC plug shape may differdepending on the region you

    purchase the photo frame.

    Removing the AC plug from the wall outletIf the AC plug remains inserted in the wall outlet, remove it as

    follows, without using a tool:

    Metal terminals at the rear of the AC plug.

    Operations in an initial stateWhen the photo frame is turned, the initial display appears.

    If handled roughly, the AC plugmay become detached from the ACadaptor main unit and remain in thewall outlet. If this occurs, grasp theAC plug with dry hands asillustrated and remove it from thewall outlet. Do not use a tool. Becareful not to touch the metalterminals at the rear of the AC plug.

    Check to see if there is no troublewith the AC adaptor main unit andAC plug, and then slide the ACplug into the AC adaptor main unituntil it clicks into place.

    If there is any problem with theAC adaptor main unit or AC plug,consult with your Sony servicefacilities for repair.

    z Tipsx If the photo frame is notoperatedIf the photo frame is not operated for10 seconds, the demo mode isdisplayed.

    x Releasing thedemonstration modeIf any other button than the powerbutton is pressed, the screen returnsto the initial display.

    Inserting a memory card

    Insert the memory card firmly into the corresponding slotwith its label side facing toward you (when you are facing

    the back side of the photo frame).

    When you insert a memory cardThe images on the memory card are automatically displayed.

    If you switch off the power while they arebeing displayedIf you switch the power back on, the same images continue to bedisplayed.

    If the access lamp does not flashReinsert the memory card after checking the label side of thememory card.

    About the A and B slotsIf you insert memory cards both into the A and B slotssimultaneously, the photo frame will not work properly.

    1 Press the button corresponding to view mode youwant to select.

    The display changes to selected view mode.

    Deleting an image

    1 When a desired image is displayed, press MENU andthen B / b to select the (Editing) tab.

    2 Select the desired menu item (Import/Export/Delete),and press (ENTER).

    3 Press v / V to select [ ... this image]/[... multipleimages]/[... all images], and press (ENTER).(... stands for each command: Import, Export, orDelete.)

    [... this image]:Press v / V to select the destination, and press (ENTER).

    [... multiple images]:Press B / b / v / V to select a desired image in the image list, and

    then press (ENTER) to add .Repeat this operation to select multiple images.

    To clear the selection: Select the image and press(ENTER). disappears from the image.

    After you finish selecting the images, press MENU and thenselect the destination.

    [... all images]:All the images are displayed with .

    Press MENU and then select the destination.

    4 Press v / V to select [Yes], and press (ENTER).

    Changing the settings of the autopower on/off function

    c If you named or renamed the file on yourcomputer and the file name includescharacters other than alphanumericcharacters, the image may not be able to

    be displayed on the photo frame. Is there a folder with more

    than 5 levels in its hierarchyon the memory card?

    c The photo frame cannot display imagessaved in a folder that is more than 5 levelsdeep.

    Cannot save animage.

    Did you save images from acomputer to the internalmemory without making afolder in the internalmemory?

    c If you do not make a folder, you can onlysave up to 512 images. In addition, thenumber of images may be reduceddepending on the file name length orcharacter type. When you save images in

    the internal memory from a computer, besure to make a folder in the internalmemory and save the images in thisfolder.

    Cannot delete animage.

    Is the memory card write-protected? Or is the write-protect switch locked?

    Avoid placing the photo frame in a locationsubject to: vibration humidity excessive dust direct sunlight extremely high or low temperatures

    Do not use electrical equipment near the photoframe. The photo frame will not work properlyin electromagnetic fields.

    Do not place heavy objects on the photo frame.

    On the AC adaptor Even if your photo frame is turned off, AC

    power (house current) is still supplied to itwhile it is connected to the wall outlet via theAC adaptor.

    Be sure to use the AC adaptor supplied with the

    photo frame. Do not use other AC adaptors, asthis may cause a malfunction.

    Do not use the supplied AC adaptor for otherdevices.

    Do not use an electrical transformer (travelconverter), as this may cause overheating or amalfunction.

    In case the cord of the AC adaptor is damaged,do not use it any longer, as this may bedangerous.

    On moisture condensationIf the photo frame is brought directly from a coldlocation to a warm location or placed in anextremely warm or humid room, moisture maycondense inside the unit. In such cases the photoframe will probably not work properly and mayeven develop a fault if you persist in using it. If moisture condensation occurs, unplug the AC

    adaptor of the photo frame and do not use thephoto frame for at least one hour.

    On transportWhen you transport the photo frame, remove thememory card, AC adaptor, and connected cablesfrom the photo frame and put the photo frame andits peripherals in the original box with the

    protective packaging.If you no longer have the original box andpacking parts, use similar packing material so thatthe photo frame will not be damaged while beingtransported.

    Clean the photo frame with a soft dry cloth, or a

    soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergentsolution. Do not use any type of solvent, such asalcohol or benzine, which may damage the finish.

    TV programs, films, video tapes, portraits of otherpeople, or other materials may be copyrighted.Unauthorized use of such materials may infringethe provisions of the copyright law.

    Even if you perform [Format internal memory],the data in the internal memory may not be erasedcompletely. When you dispose of the photoframe, we recommend that you physically destroythe photo frame.
