Song of Assembly1

Open the Eyes of My Heart BalocheOpen the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes of my heart,

I want to see You, I want to see You.

To see You high and lifted up shining in the light of Your glory,Pour out Your power and love as we sing, “Holy, holy, holy.”

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes of my heart,I want to see You, I want to see You.

Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy,Holy, holy, holy, I want to see You.

Welcome and Preparation for WorshipTo come to Christ for life, is for the sinner to abandon his own righteousness and be ready to be made the righteousnessof God in Christ; it is to disown his own wisdom and be guided by His; it is to repudiate his own will and be ruled by His;it is to unreservedly receive the Lord Jesus as his Saviour and Lord, as his All in all. ~ A. W. Pink

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyondtracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” “Who has ever given to God, thatGod should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. ~ Romans 11:33-36

Prayer of Adoration & Praise

Hymn of Praise

All Creatures of Our God and King Francis of AssisiAll creatures of our God and King,

Lift up your voice and with us sing, alleluia, alleluia!Thou burning sun with golden beam,Thou silver moon with softer gleam,

O praise Him, O praise Him, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Thou rushing wind that art so strong,Ye clouds that sail in heav’n along, O praise Him, alleluia!

Thou rising moon in praise rejoice,Ye lights of evening, find a voice,

O praise Him, O praise Him, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless,And worship Him in humbleness, O praise Him, alleluia!

Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,And praise the Spirit, Three in One,

O praise Him, O praise Him, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

The Manifold Wisdom of Our God Isaiah 55:8-11Pastor: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.People: “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than yourthoughts.”Pastor: “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it budand flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,People: so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desireand achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

The Lord Gives Us His GraceWhat does the law do for you? Romans 3:19, 20Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in hissight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

We Confess our SinsOur God and Father, Your law exposes our hearts, uncovering the evil we have done and the good we have leftundone. We’ve broken all of your commandments by trusting in created things, when we should have trusted onlyin you. Lord, we confess our sins to you, agreeing with you that they have been constant, offensive, and evil. Thankyou for delivering us from your wrath and saving us through your Son, Jesus Christ. We come to you because youare “the LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”Lord, have mercy on us and forgive us; and enable us, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, more and more to die unto sinand live unto righteousness. In Christ Jesus we pray. ...Silent & Personalized Confession of Sin... Amen!

What does God’s grace through your faith in Jesus Christ do for you? Romans 3:21-26But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witnessto it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all havesinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in ChristJesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, sothat he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Worship with Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs

Great God Who Saves StoryOh, the promises of God, the rock on which I stand,

The truths to which I cling. His love that knows no bounds; He showers us with grace,

Withholding no good thing.

When I stumble and my faith is small,I will call Your name, great God who saves.

And I would have despaired if I had not believedThat You would come to me, great God who saves.

And in my darkest hour, Your mercy and Your powerAre reaching out to me, great God who saves.

Oh, the mystery of God, who holds all space and time,Yet knows my every need.

The vastness of Your power, the strength You give the weak;I soar on eagle’s wings.

And in my pain and in my need,You heard me calling out Your name. When I was blind and could not see,

You stepped in and saved a wretch like me,And saved a wretch like me.

Great God who saves.

I’m Singing Tomlin/Cash/JobeOnly one name lasts forever, only one fame stands alone

Only one king has an anthem, that goes on and on and on

And I’m singing to the God who brings redemption to the nationsKings and oceans bow to Him in praise

And I’m singing to the God who wrote the book on our salvationTo the One who covers me in grace I’m singing

Only one word in the beginning, only one truth will prevailOnly one love brings you freedom, only one Man took the nails

Praise, praise to the Savior. Praise, to the Lamb Of GodPraise, in all of His splendor. Praise, for saving my life

And I’m singing to the God who brings redemption to the nationsKings and oceans bow to Him in praise

And I’m singing to the God who wrote the book on our salvationTo the One who covers me in grace, to the One who covers me in grace

I’m singing, I’m singing, I’m singing, I’m singing

The Potter’s Hand ZschechBeautiful Lord, Wonderful Saviour, I know for sure,

All of my days are held in your hands, crafted into your perfect plan. You gently call me into your presence, guiding me by Your Holy Spirit

Teach me, dear Lord, to live all of my life through Your eyes.I’m captured by Your holy calling, set me apart,

I know you’re drawing me to yourself, lead me Lord, I pray.

Take me, mould me, use me, fill me. I give my life to the Potter’s hand.Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me. I give my life to the Potter's hand.

Prayers of Thanksgiving & Petition Elder Greg Smith…Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is inheaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not intotemptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

His Tithes & Our Offerings

The Lord Gives Us His WordSermon3 Pastor Brad Eades

“What About Judas?”John 17:12

We Respond God of Wonders ByrdLord of all creation of water, earth and sky;

The heavens are Your tabernacle. Glory to the Lord on high!

God of wonders beyond our galaxy, You are holy, holy. The universe declares Your Majesty. You are holy, holy.Lord of Heaven and earth, Lord of Heaven and earth.

Early in the morning I will celebrate the light,When I stumble in the darkness, I will call your name by night.

Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and earth. Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and earth.Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and earth. You are holy, holy.

God of wonders beyond our galaxy, You are holy, holy.Precious Lord, reveal Your heart to me. Father, hold me, hold me.The universe declares Your Majesty. You are holy, holy, holy, holy!

The Lord Gives Us His SacramentThe Sacrament of the Lord’s SupperCommunion, also called The Lord’s Supper or Eucharist, is the family meal of Christians. We invite all committedfollowers of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament: those who are baptized members of a congregation that proclaims thegospel, who are at peace with God and their neighbor, and who seek strength to live in a deeper communion with Jesus. If you are not a Christian, or you are not prepared to share in this meal, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer. We hope that this time is helpful to you as you consider your relationship with Jesus Christ and with his people, the Church.

Behold the Lamb Getty/TownendBehold the Lamb who bears our sins away, slain for us: and we rememberThe promise made that all who come in faith find forgiveness at the cross.

So we share in this Bread of Life, and we drink of His sacrifice,As a sign of our bonds of peace around the table of the King.

3 4, 5, & 6 year-old children may be dismissed before the sermon to Godly Play in room 173.5

Page 7: DPC Bulletin - November 13, 2011

The body of our Savior, Jesus Christ, torn for you: eat and rememberThe wounds that heal, the death that brings us life, paid the price to make us one.

So we share in this Bread of Life, and we drink of His sacrifice,As a sign of our bonds of love around the table of the King.

The blood that cleanses every stain of sin, shed for you: drink and rememberHe drained death’s cup that all may enter in to receive the life of God.

So we share in this Bread of Life, and we drink of His sacrifice,As a sign of our bonds of grace around the table of the King.

And so with thankfulness and faith we rise to respond: and to remember. Our call to follow in the steps of Christ as His body here on earth. As we share in His suffering, we proclaim: Christ will come again! And we’ll join in the feast of heaven around the table of the King.

The Lord Gives Us His BlessingBenediction4 Numbers 6:24-26The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His facetoward you and give you peace.

Crown Him with Many Crowns BridgesCrown him the Lord of heav’n, One with the Father known

One with the Spirit thro’ Him giv’n from yonder glorious throneTo thee be endless praise for thou for us has died.

Be thou, O Lord, thro’ endless days Adored and magnified!

4 Just as God called us into His presence at the beginning, so now He commands His blessing upon us as we depart. We look up and extend our handsin a posture of thanksgiving as we receive this great gift. Our final response to God’s assurance of His peace and presence upon those who are in Christis a chorus of joyful song.

Iron Men moment:“When [the gospel-centered man] reads the won-derful Old Testament promises of a restored Jeru-salem, fabulous prosperity and great personalvictory, he knows that they are promises to us thatwill only partially materialize in the present. Heknows that they will only be fully available to usin eternity, when Christ returns to make every-thing new. The man of God can wait, with hope inhis heart. And the man who is driven by this gospel canendure the disappointment of a painful illness ora frustrating sex-life or demotion at work. He willcope with bereavement, sickness or disaster, be-cause he understands the timescale of God’s king-dom.I was once speaking at a men’s convention when aman came to share with me the pain of his mar-riage. He quietly explained that his believing wifesuffered from terrible bi-polar disorder and dur-ing her manic phases would often become sexual-ly promiscuous. As a Christian man he hadresolved to endure the indignity of her famousexploits in the small town where he lived becausehe was looking forward to Christ’s return. He didn’t feel, as many unbelievers do, that sincehis time on earth is short, he should make the mostof his short life and ditch the wife that broughthim such pain. He explained that he was patientlywaiting for eternity, when his sick wife would behealed and they would both be free to enjoy theparadise of the King.Only the gospel of the promised kingdom canempower that kind of patience and hope whileenduring such pain.” ~ Richard Coekin

“A Long Obedience in the Same Direction”A study of Eugene Peterson’s book looking at the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134). These are the particular songs thatthe Hebrew pilgrims would sing on their way up to worship in Jerusalem, and they have much to teach us about worship, service, joy, work, happiness, humility, community and blessing. Room 167a, (down the hall from the church office).

“The Righteous Shall Live By Faith”A study of R. C. Sproul’s book looking at the book of Romans. The book of Romans has been called “Paul’s fullest, grandest, most comprehensive statement of the gospel,” and it’s just as vital for the church today as on the day it waswritten. Room 158a, (right off the sanctuary).

Sedona Class for Young AdultsThe Young Adult Class is studying the book of John, using an excellent study guide (very understandable and applicable)by Frank Barker. The book of John was “written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and thatby believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). Room 168a — the “waterfall room,” off the back hallway, whichcan be accessed from the hallway across from the church office.
