This week’s meeting started with Ells Bowser lead-ing us in song and the Pledge of Allegiance (JimHall on the piano) and Jim Ludwig provided theInvocation. The meeting also opened with LindaFischer providing a eulogy for Past DistrictGovernor Lou Piconi. Rest in Peace Lou!
P.K. Weston then substituted in as a “Santa RayAmelio Little Helper Elf” and ran the meeting. Shethanked James Gourlay and the River City BrassBand for the wonderful event at the LeMont. Shealso thanked Sally Mizerak, Linda Clautti andLynne Scanga for their work in coordinating theHoliday party.
The topic of “Kids Take the Field” with thePittsburgh Pirates was discussed. You may recallthat we did this last year in cooperation with thePirates where younger kids can go on the field to bewith a player for the National Anthem. The groupagreed to move forward with the project again in2013.
Linda Fischer then presented the July 2013 slate ofOfficers and Directors. They are as follows:

The meeting continued with P.K. coordinating aget-to-know-you activity. Each table was askedto discuss the individuals at the tables… theirname, work and one thing unique about them-selves. And by the way, thanks to Al Wells forproviding the club with Flash Dance ticketswhich were used for an auction item during themeeting. The tickets went to new member AlexisEngland.
