Standard Telefon og Kabelfabrikk A/S ITT becomes a 100 % owner and the company changes name to Standard Telefon og Kabelfabrikk A/S.
1972-1978
New Production UnitsCommunication Cables in Rognan (1972), High Voltage Cables in Halden (1974), Medium Voltage Cables in Namsos (1978).
1987-1991
Alcatel STK ASAlcatel takes over ITT’s ownership in 1987 and the company is renamed to Alcatel STK AS.Alcatel Kabel Norge ASAlcatel STK AS divests the cable activity in a separate entity, Alcatel Kabel Norge AS in 1991.

New Production UnitProduction unit for installation-, industrial-, and heating cable at Langhus.
2006
Joint VentureOfficial inauguration of Nexans' new factory, NVC, for production of high voltage submarine cables in Tokyo Bay in Japan. NVC is a joint venture between Nexans (66 %) and Viscas (34 %).

NexansAlcatel divests it’s cable activity in a separate company, Nexans.

• Nexans noted at the Stock Exchange in Paris June 13.

C/S Nexans SkagerrakThe cable laying vessel C/S Nexans Skagerrak is upgraded and rebuilt in 2008 and 2010.

Conveyor TrackThe Rognan plant opens the conveyor track from the plant to the quayside. Full lengths of cables will now be able to be transported down to the ships.

New CarouselInaugurates the new carousel for long-term storage in Mobile, Alabama.
