Hello everyone, We would like to introduce our new Robotics club Eaglesnest Robotics formerly known as Eaglesnest Robotics LLC. We are located in the Spring Area. Our motto is Exploring young minds through Science and Technology. Robotics applies the elements Science by using Technology. In robotics students are able to visualize the 3 r's in education, which are Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic. We implement Robotics into the education triangle as the 4th R of education. Students are able to apply visually and physically what they have learned in the 3R's. With the FIRST® (For Inspiration of Science and Technology) programs as the activity arm of our students.
Currently we are looking for interested committed students, boys and girls, ages 9-‐14 for this year's FLL Challenge:
2015 TRASH TREK Challenge http://www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge/2015trashtrek We’re not talking trash – we’re cleaning it up! In the 2015 FIRST® LEGO® League. TRASH TREKS Challenge, 290,000 children ages 9 to 16* from over 80 countries will explore the fascinating world of trash. From collection, to sorting, to smart production and reuse, there is more to your trash than meets the eye. Join FIRST LEGO League teams on a Trash Trek to discover the hidden (or not so hidden) world of trash! FIRST LEGO League (FLL®) challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. During the TRASH TREKSM season, teams will choose and solve a real-‐world trash problem in the Project. They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot
Game. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s signature set of Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®. If you have a student, boy or girl, ages 9-‐14, that is interested in joining our FIRST LEGO League Robotics team, we will be taking applications for those interested after the Open House meeting on April 10, @ 7:00pm. The Season Starts on September 1 although we will meet in the summer.

Important! Here are things we look at a when we are reviewing the applicants:
o Commitment to the Team (Displayed Interest)- Your child's eligibility could be determined by just easily showing his or her interest by simply filling out the application questionnaire and completing a one paragraph essay. We are not looking to grade the student’s grammar capabilities but we are looking for a sense of commitment from the student. This simple characteristic is vital to the team's progress and will be considered when the student's application is reviewed.
o Availability- Meetings are held at least once a week every week during the season for the FLL team, Starting Sept 1 and as we get closer to the Team will meet once every other week for Mentorship meetings, Field Trips, Team building, and fund raising activities and more.
o Unique Skills-Ex: If all but one applicant indicates that they want to build robots, and the remaining applicant indicates he or she has experience in programming, this rare interest will be an asset to the team. Likewise, the research portion of the competition often gets less attention than the Robot table work. If an applicant indicates a strong interest in reading, writing, and public speaking, he might make an excellent addition to the team as its Research Team Leader.
All students, boys and girls, ages 9-14, are invited to apply. Joining our Club will also require a commitment from the parents also. A good team does not run well without parent support. Good luck and thank you for considering our team! I promise a great year. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you and having a wonderful Robotics year If you have questions you can call me at 860-‐574-‐5332.
