JAMMU, June 28: PresidingOfficer of Fast Track CourtSanjeev Gupta has acquitted oneHassan Bhatti, son of MohdSharief of Prem Nagar, Jammu,who was facing trial in kidnappingand rape case as prosecution miser-ably failed to prove its case.

According to the police case,on May 7, 2009 father of the pros-ecutrix approached Police PostGujjar Nagar and lodged a reportto the effect that about 3/4 daysback, prosecutrix had gone to visitthe house of her maternal grand-mother situated at Jogi Gate whenshe went missing.

The complainant also told thepolice that he has come to knowthat one Hassan Bhatti alias Sunnyhas kidnapped her daughter.

On this, police registered a caseand started investigation. Duringthe investigation police recoveredgirl and after completion of inves-tigation challan was presented.

After hearing Advocate PrinceKhanna for the accused, PresidingOfficer observed, “after taking intoconsideration the entire material onrecord and in view of the glaringloop holes in the case, it is not pos-sible to believe the evidence givenby prosecutrix regarding her kid-napping and rape by the accused

which is not only untrue but alsonot reliable”.

“She appears to be a consent-ing party in whole act and hadeloped with accused possibly onaccount of having affair with him”,the court said, adding “the prosecu-tion has miserably failed to bringhome the guilt against theaccused”.

With these observations, Courtdismissed the prosecution case andacquitted the accused.

SRINAGAR, June 28: Askingthe J&K State FinancialCorporation (JKSFC) to holdmonthly Business Review

Meetings to further enhance itsperformance, the Minster forFinance and Ladakh Affairs,Abdul Rahim Rather, who is alsoChairman of the Corporation,today urged for providing hassle-free lending facilities to theprospective entrepreneurs withoutgetting entangled into the cob-webof institutional formalities. He alsourged for minimizing the gap peri-od between sanction and disburse-ment of the credit.

"While financing fresh pro-posals, thorough appraisal shouldbe carried out for minimizing pos-sible institutional formalities at thepre-sanction stage to ensure has-sle-free disbursement", Mr. Rathersaid while chairing the 232ndmeeting of the Board of Directorsof J&K SFC held here onSaturday. He said project imple-mentation should in no way getaffected due to delayed disburse-ment for want of institutional for-malities.

While appreciating the man-agement of the corporation forearning the distinction of being theonly PSU in the State havingupdated its Annual Accounts, theMinster emphasized for furtherrejuvenating/ revitalizing its areasof operations viz. sanction, dis-bursement and recovery of loans.

The Economic Advisor toGovernment Jalil Ahmad Khan,Principal Secretary, FinanceDepartment, B.B. Vyas, ManagingDirector J&K SFC MohammadFarooq Thoker, Taffazal Hussain(Director), Dy. General Managers,Mohd. Rafique Dar and NazirAhmad Bhat and Chief Manager,Shoukat Ahmad Wani also attend-ed the meeting.

While urging for focusedattention towards recoveries, theMinster said "current fiscal shouldbe the year of recoveries" whichhe said was imperative for the

financial health of theCorporation. For this purpose, hecalled for devising a comprehen-sive recovery policy and vigorousfollow-up coupled with robustmechanism for recovery of over-

book keeping and managementaccounting, adding that cus-tomized training programmes foremployees of the Corporationneed to be organized to infuse theelement of Professionalism andHuman Resource Development inthe rank and file of theCorporation. dering responsibility of the chan-nelizing agency of the NationalMinority Development FinanceCorporation (NMDFC) in theState.

The Minister also asked theCorporation toenhance and diversifyits business and buildgood portfolio withmain focus to identifythe changing needs ofthe customers andstrive to fulfill theseneeds to their utmostsatisfaction. He urgedfor improving theassets quality andvolume of businessgrowth while keepingcustomer satisfactionas its top priority.

The ManagingDirector informed themeeting that the

Corporation after remaining in redfor about 10 years is now earningprofit since last three years andthat its net worth has substantiallyimproved to Rs. (+)25.24 crore.

Besides, approving theBalance Sheet of the Corporationand profit and loss accounts for theyear ended 2013-14, the Boardalso approved to implement theSRO 164 of June 5, 2014 entitlingemployees of the Corporation toavail the retirement age of 60years at par with the other employ-ees of the State Government.

CM announces relief forUri road accident victimsExcelsior Correspondent

SRINAGAR, June 28: ChiefMinister Omar Abdullah hasannounced relief of Rs. 1 lakheach for the deceased in the roadaccident that took place in Uri. Hehas also announced relief of Rs10,000 for the injured in the acci-dent.

Omar Abdullah while express-ing grief over the accident con-veyed his solidarity and sympathywith the bereaved families. Healso prayed for eternal peace to thedeparted souls and early recoveryof the injured.

Meanwhile, Minister forHealth and Medical Education, Taj

Mohi-ud-Din visited the familiesof those killed in accident at Uriand expressed his heart felt sym-pathies with them.

The Minister also handed overrelief cheques of Rs. 1 lakh each tothe kin of four Uri residents andhanded over the fifth cheque toDC, Ramban for onward disburse-ment to the fifth killed person whohailed from Ramban district.

Meanwhile, the DistrictAdministration, Baramulla hand-ed over relief cheques to theinjured also.

The ADDC, Mukhtar visitedSKIMS and handed over chequesworth Rs. 10,000 each to all thoseinjured in the accident.

People's cooperation imperative fordevelopment: Bhalla

JAMMU, June 28: Ministerfor Housing, Horticulture,Culture, Youth Services andSports Raman Bhalla todayhighlighted the importance ofpublic cooperation for effective

implementation of develop-ment schemes.

The Minister was address-ing a large gathering at LowerGaddigarh after launching Rs.50 lakh development works inthe area, here this afternoon.

He assured the residents ofLower Gaddigarh that all theirdevelopment related issueswould be redressed on prioritybasis, adding that theGovernment has laid focus todevelop all the localities onmodern lines by providing safedrinking water, power, betterroads, bye-lanes, drains,besides educational and health-care infrastructure.

Mr. Bhalla asked the exe-cuting agency to complete allthe projects within stipulatedtime frame so that the benefitsreach to people at the earliest.

Mr. Bhalla said that theGovernment was fully aware of

hardships of weaker sections ofthe society and was making allout efforts to mitigate the sameon priority basis. He hoped thatthe people will cooperate withexecuting agencies in effectiveimplementation of develop-ment works in their basties.

To deal with drinking waterscarcity at Lower Gaddigarh,Langer and Ambika Colony, theMinister said Government hasprepared a detailed projectreport of Rs. 3 crore for layingof water supply pipes in periph-eral areas of these localities toprovide relief to the people. Hesaid with the laying of supplypipes, the drinking waterscarcity in the areas would besolved to a large extent.

Responding to local issues,the Minister informed thattwo revenue complex involv-ing a cost of Rs. 1.28 crore areunder progress to provide rev-enue related services to thepeople of Karan Bagh, LowerGaddigarh, Chatha, BhourCamp Rani Talab and oldSatwari and its adjoining areasunder one roof.

He assured that these wouldbe completed within stipulatedtime frame.

The Minister assured thepeople that all their genuinedemands and developmentneeds would be fulfilled in aphased manner, adding thatthere was no constraint offunds in providing adequatebasic amenities to the people of

all the three regions of theState.

Later, the Minister alsoinspected construction work onPHC, Community Hall,Cremation Ground, Playfieldand Tehsildar building atLower Gaddigarh, to be com-pleted at an estimated cost ofRs. 6.70 crore.

Later, Mr. Bhalla alongwith a team of officers visit-ed Shri Amarnath Yatri Niwasat Bhagwati Nagar andreviewed the arrangementsmade by the district adminis-tration for the convenience ofthe yatries.

The Minister asked the offi-cers of the TourismDepartment, PHE, R&B, JMC,Revenue, Health, CAPDD andPDD to provide adequate facil-ities to the Shri AmarnathYatries so that they do not faceany inconvenience.

Farooq Renzu (Renzu Shah) isthe chairman of the Committeewhile as M Yaqoob Vakeel, FarooqAndrabi, Shoiab Nabi Lone, DrSayeed Ahmad, Haji Farooq Mir,Hilal Shah, Shameema Sopori,Khursheed Zargar and Sahil Farooqare the members of the Committee.
