All right,six o’clockÂnd so, they’ll be here to give out the prayer cardstomorrow night; and we’ll pray for the sick again tomorrow nightin a_in a prayer line. Anybody can have them; they’re without_without cost; they don’t cost you a penny. You just come; they’refree. That’s the reason I have my own son giving them out. Andso,thenwegodowntothefirstof themeeting.We’dgetoutalltheprayercards.That’swhentheyhadbigmeetings,andthereweremaybehundredsof themgiveout.Wellthen,I^Noneedforanybodycomingafterthatfirstnightif wewastheretwoweeks,I’dnevergetthroughallthem.Aboutsixoreightanight,ten^See,I’dneverget throughthem,so thatdidn’twork.People, if theywasn’tthere the first day had not a chance to get in the prayer line. Unto the Angel of the church of Laodicea write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

I know thy works^thou art neither cold nor hot: I would that thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold or hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased in goods^have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched^miserable^poor^blind, and naked:

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in^fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that thy shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

E-7 I_Idon’thaveavoicetosing.Butsomedaywhenyouallgetoverontheotherside,andyou’relivinginyourbigmansionuptheresomewhere,justglorifyingGod,andwaydowninthewoodsthere’sa little cabin, sets down there in the corner. And when you walkoutonyourfrontporchsomemorning;youlookstandingthereonthe cabin, you hear the voice come up through the woods singing,“Amazinggrace,howsweetthesound,savedawretchlikeme.” You say, “Praise God, old Brother Branham made it. Therehe is; he can sing it now.” Finally made it, got over on the otherside^Andif_onlywayI’lleverget there isbytheamazinggraceof JesusChrist.IloveHim,trustHim,butit’lltakeHisgracetogetmeoverontheotherside.Therefore,I’mnottrustinginanyability;Ihavenone.I’mtrustinginwhatHedidforme. in theworld.There’senough intheretosavetheentireworld.Youknow,thingstoday,we’relookingatbigthings,butweleaveoff thelittlethings.E-9 Heresometimeago(Idon’twhetherI’veevertoldyouaboutitornot,itwasinacertaincity.),alittleboywasupintheatticlookingaround.Andhe_hefoundinanoldtrunkalittlepostagestamp,justabout one-half inch square. Well, he knowed where there was astampcollectordownthestreet,soherundownthestreet,thoughtmaybethestampcollectorwouldgivehimfivecentsforthepostagestamptogoinhisalbum,anditwould_hewouldgethimaconeof icecream. Andherandownthestreetrealquicktothestampcollector,andhesaid,“Lookatthisstamp,Ihavejustfound.”Andcalledhimbyhisgivenname,said,“Howmuchwillyougivemeforit?” Andthestampcollector lookedat it throughhisglass. Itwasoldandturnedyellow.Hesaid,“Oh,I_I’llgiveyouadollarforit.”E-10 Oh, the bargain was made right quick, and the business wason.Thatwasabouttwentyconesof icecream.Oh,hesoldthestampright quick. I may have the over or under estimation, but I believethatstampwassoldabouttwoweeks laterforaroundfivehundreddollars.Andthenlateron,itwassoldforaenormousamount,andhas went on and on, till I just don’t know how much that stamp’sworth.It’soneof themostvaluablestampsthereisinthecollector’salbum.Whatmade it sovaluable? Itwasn’tbecauseof the sizeof it.Itwasn’tbecauseof thepaperthatitwaswrittenon,becauseit’dalreadyturnedyellow.Butit’swhatwasonitthatcounted. That’s theway it iswith this text tonightoranyScripture. Itisn’tthesizeof it,orthepaperit’swrittenon;it’swhatitiswrittenonit.ItistheWordof thelivingGodwhichisjustaseternalastheAuthorof theWriting.Great,andeverypromiseistrue.It’sunusualtoo,becauseitdrawsapictureof someoneknockingatthedoor.E-11 I justnotableat this time tocall thenameof theartist thatwrote that famous picture or drawed it, rather, painted it. That hestood and painted a picture of Jesus coming and knocking at thedoor^IthinkhewasaGreekartist.Wasn’tAngelo,Idon’tthink.But I’m not sure just what his name was. But all famous pictures,beforetheycanbecomefamous,theyhavetogothroughthehallof critics. I’veoftenthoughtthataboutthechurch.BeforeGodcanevertake His Church in the rapture, it has to go through the hall of critics,theworld,tocriticizeit,makefunof it,callit^?^names.

But then,when it’s finallypassedthroughthathallof critics,thenthepictureorpaintingcanbehunginthehallof fame.That’swhat God will do with His Church. He will let it go through thecriticismandpersecutionof theworld,butsomedayHewilltakeitupintheairandputitinthehallof fame,seatitatHisrightside.E-12 This great artist, it’d taken him a lifetime to paint thepicture. When finally he thought all of it was ready for the hallof critics^And after while a certain critic came up, and they’reeducatedtocriticize,greatfamouscritics^ Andhesaid,“Yourpicture isanoutstandingpicture.WecanseetheJesuscomingatnightinthedarknessof humanlifewithHislanterninthehand.SeethelovelylittlehomethatHecomestoandthevinesaroundthedoorandsoforth.SeeHimwiththeexpressiononHisface,knocking,listening,tryingtohearif therewouldbeananswerfromtheinside.” The critic said, “There is nothing to criticize, that you havedoneamasterpiece.Butthere isjustonethingthatyouhavefailedtodo.” And the artist said, “Sir, what is that thing I have failed todo?” Hesaid,“Youfailedtoputalatchonthedoor.”Said,“There’snolatchonit.” “Oh,”saidtheartist,“Ipainteditthatway.” Well, he said, “How could He ever get in if there wasn’t alatch?” He said, “The latch is on the inside. The man that’s on theinsidehastoopen.” “Istandandknockatthedoorandif anymanwillopen^”Goddoesn’tpull yourheartopen;He justknocksandyouhave toopen itup.“I standandknockand if anymanwillhearMyvoiceand open, I’ll come in and sup with him, and he with Me.” Now,“supping” in the Old Testament, or in oriental days of the Lord’svisit to the earth, was: communing.” I will come in and will havecommunionwithhim,setdownandtalkthingsover.Don’tyouwantHimtodothatwithyou?E-13 HereinPhoenixafewyearsagotherewasamanandwomansang that^And I’ve got it on a little rubber record, “I’d Like toTalk it Over with Him.” Got to preach at that church tomorrowwhere theycome from,and Ihope they’re there; I’d like tohear itagain.

I’dliketosay,“Jesus,Youlovedmewhenmypathgotsodim.”Greatesttimeof mylifeiswhenIcouldsetdown,andmypathgotdim, and I did not know which way to turn, east, west, north, orsouth,andjusttalkitoverwithHim.Andthefirstthingyouknow,Iwasontheothersideof thething.TalkitoverwithHim.E-14 When a man knocks at a door [Brother Branham knocks onthepulpitthreetimes_Ed.]he’stryingtogainentrance.He’stryingtogetin.Hewantstotalkwithyou.That’swhyhe’sknocking.Now,it’snotanunusual thingforsomeonetoknockonsomeone’sdoor.We’vehaditthroughtheages.Greatmenhasknockedatdoors. For instance, what_if we would say tonight^What in thedaysof Caesar,thegreatemperorof RomeÎfhewentdowntoapeasant’shouseandknockedat thedoor [BrotherBranhamknockson pulpit three times_Ed.] and the peasant rushed to the door,opened up the door, and there stood the great, mighty emperor of Romeknockingathisdoor^Well,thatpoorlittlefellowwould’vealmosthaveaheart attack. “Thinkat thegreat andmightyCaesarstandsatmydoor,”whatanhonor itwouldbe for theemperorof Rometoknockatapeasant’shouse. Why, he would, trembling, fall on his knees, and he’d say,“Sir,if thereisanythingthat’sinmyreach,thatIcoulddoforyou,greatemperor,I’lldoanythingthatyourequiremetodo.Andif itispossible,honormyhumble,littlehomebystickingyourfeetintothedoor.Itwillbeanhonorthatmyhomeshelteredtheemperorof thisgreatnation.”Anditwouldbeanhonor.E-15 Or in the Germany^The late dictator, Adolf Hitler, in thedaysof hisgreatnessinGermanyÎfhe’dhavewenttoaGermansoldier’sdoorandknockedatthedoor,andthelittlesoldierwould’verun to the door, not knowing who it was knocking, and pulled thedoor openÂnd why if he’d seen the great Adolf Hitler, theFuehrerof Germany,standingthere,thatlittlesoldierwould’vecometoattention,givehimtheGermansalutewithhislipstremblingandtearsrunningdownhischeeks. He’dhavesaid,“GreatFuehrerof Germany,youhavehonoredmy home. Come in. You make me feel so good to know that youwouldcometomydoor.It’sanhonorthateverymancannothave.Foryou,thegreatHitler,toknockatmydoorandtocomeheretohonormewithyourpresence^”E-16 Or if President Dwight Eisenhower, our most belovedpresidentÎfhewouldcomeheretoPhoenixtomorrow,andwouldcometothehouseof thebestDemocratthereisinPhoenix,itwouldbeanhonortoyou.Thoughyouwoulddifferentwithhiminpolitics,

yethe’sagreatman;he’sthepresidentof ourUnitedStates.He’sanhonorableman.Oneof thehighest,honorablemen there is in thisnationisourbelovedpresident,Mr.Eisenhower. Justrecentlythequeenof Englandmadeatripoverhere.Whatif shewould’vecometoPhoenix,andwentdowntoyourhouse,andknockedatthedoor,andyou’dhaveopenedthedoorandtherestoodthe queen of England at your door? Though she has no rule overyou;you’renotinherdomain.Butyet,youwould’vebeenhonoredtohavethegreatestqueenontheearthstandingatyourdoortopayyouavisit. Youwould’vesaid,“Queen,comeintomyhouse.Andif thereisanythingherethatyouareseeking,oh,itwouldbeaprivilegeformetogiveittoyou.”Sure,she’sagreatwoman.Oneof thegreatestqueens on the earth today is the queen of England. If she’d haveaskedyouforsomelittlesomethingthatyoucherishedwithallyourheart,you’dhavestillgiveittoher.It’dhavebeenanhonorforyoutodoit.Nomatterwhatyouvalueditat,yougaveittothegreatestqueenintheearth.E-17 See,itdependsontheimportanceof thepersonatyourdoor.I want to ask you something. Who is more important to knock atyourdoorthanJesusChrist?WhereisthereagreaterpersonthatcanknockatyourdoorthanHim?AndHe’sknockedatmoredoorsthanallthekingsthereeverwasintheworldoreverwillbe,and’sturnedawaymorethananyeverwaseverturnedaway.“Istandatthedoorand knock^” [Brother Branham knocks three times_Ed.]. TheGodof glory^ Now, perhaps, if Mr. Eisenhower would knock at your door,he probably would want you to vote for him. Or he might havesomethingelsetotakefromyou,somefavorforyoutodoforhim.Thequeenmightunderstand thatyouhavea certain relic thatyouvalue,and_andshe’dlikethat,wantstotakesomethingfromyou.E-18 But it isn’tsowithJesus.WhenHeknocks,Hewantstogiveyou something. The best thing that could be given; that’s EternalLife. That’s the reason of His knocking [Brother Branham knocksthreetimes_Ed.].WhywouldanyoneturnHimaway? “I stand and knock, and if any man will open, I’ll come intohim,andwill supwithhim,andhewithMe.”Hewants tohealyou, wants forgive your sins. He wants to do something good foryou,andyetpeopleturnHimawaymorethantheywouldPresidentEisenhower.

Now,Iwanttosaysomethinglikethis,if PresidentEisenhowerwould humble himself, or the queen of England, and would cometo your house and knock at your door [Brother Branham knockstwotimes_Ed.],youwouldbragaboutittoeverybody.You’dwanteverybodytoknowthatthepresidentcometoyourhouse.AndyetJesus can knock at the door, and we’re ashamed to tell anybodyaboutit,ashamedof theLordJesuswhenHeknocksandtryingtogiveyousomething.E-19 Takethenation’sattitude,takePhoenix’sattitude.If PresidentEisenhower, or Mr. Nixon, our lovely Vice President, would cometoPhoenixandgovisityourhouseandknockatyourdoor,itwouldbe on international news. And he would get praises for humblinghimself. All the poor people in your neighborhood and around thecountry would appreciate knowing that that great man humbledhimself tocometoyourdoorormydoor. And yet, Jesus knocks night after night even to bootleggers,prostitutes,harlots,andHe’scastawayassomefanatic.What’sthejudgmentgoingtobe? Oh,youmightsaytome,“Justaminute,preacher.I’vealreadyacceptedJesusintomyheart.” Maybe that’s just what you done. Accepted Him into yourheart,butdidyouknowwhenHegetsintoyourheart,howwelcomeisHeafterHegetsin?E-20 If Icometoyourhouse,andyou_Iknockedatyourdoorandyougivemetherighthandof fellowshipandtoldmetocomein,andthensaid,“Youstandrightthere.Don’tyougotomeddlingaroundinmyhouse.” Well, that’s about the way some people accept Jesus. Youknow,thereismorethanonedoortotheheart.There’sdoors,littlecompartments, in theheart.That’swhereyou liveat, in these littlecompartments. And then when_what if we’d look over some of themcompartmentsandseewhattheyare? Now,thinkof it,whatif youcometomyhouse,andthatyouknocked at the door, and I’d come open the door; I’d say, “Comein.”Andyoucome in,andI’d say,“Now, lookyhere, Idon’twantmeddling around in my house. You stand right there and tell mewhatyouwant,butdon’t go to foolingaround inmyhouse.”Youwouldn’tfeelverywelcome.Iwouldn’tfeelwelcomeatyourhouse. If youwelcomemein,Iexpectyoutosay,“Comein,BrotherBranham. So glad to have you. The house is yours, take over, do

whatyouwantto.Oh,I’djustdothat.Comein,takeoff myshoes,andlayacrossthebed,goouttotherefrigeratorandgetmeagreatbigsandwichandlaythereandeat.I’dfeelathome.E-21 That’s theway Jesuswants todo inyourheart.Hewants tofeelathome.ButwegotHimclosedoff toalotof things. “Now,Jesus, I’ll tellYouwhyI’ll letYou inmydoor. Idon’twanttogotohell.Iwanttobesavedattheendof thelife.Youcancomeinthedoor,butnow,don’tYougotomeddlingaround.” Whenyougetinthehumanheart,let’sthinkthis;thatoverontherighthandsidethere’sa littlecloset,a littledoor.That’sahardone,thatmostpeopledon’twantanyonemeddlingwith,andthat’scalled,overthatdoor,“Thedoorof myprivatelife.” “Now,Jesus,I’llletYouin.Butdon’tYougotomeddlingwithmyprivatelife.If Ihavetostopmycardparty, if Ihavetogiveupthe_thepoolroombunchthatIrunwith,if Ihavetobecalledoldfashion,becauseIdon’tsmokecigaretteswiththerestof thewomen,if Ihavetoburnupmyshortsandcan’twearthemliketherestof thewomen,Youstayrightthere,don’tmeddlewithme.”That’sthewaylotsof ChristiansacceptJesus.Hewouldn’tbewelcomeinyourheart. “Don’t You interrupt any of my^I drink a little sociablebeer.AndIdon’twantYoutobotherwiththat,onlyI_I’llletYouinbecauseIdon’twanttogotohell.”E-22 Now, is that the way you accepted Jesus? Jesus don’t wantto come in like that. When He’s knocking at your heart [BrotherBranhamknockstwotimes_Ed.],whenHecomesinHewantstobeyourLord.“Lord”is“rulership.”Hecomesintoyourheart,knowingthatHemadethatheartforHimself.Alltherestof thebodyyoucanhave,buttheheartisthecontroltower;andHewantstocometothisheart,soHecanleadyou,beaLord.YouwantHimasyourSaviourbutnotyourLord. So many people say, “Oh, I want Him as my Saviour; I’veacceptedHimasmySaviour.” That’s good,buthaveyouacceptedHimasyourLord, toberuleroveryou,toruleyou,toguideyou,towalk intothatdoorof yourprivate lifeandcleantheclosetout?TakeHisownBloodandpaintitonthewalls^E-23 Thenrightnexttothatisanotherlittledoorcalledpride.Oh,that’saterribleone.Everybodywantsa littlepride.If youcan’t letJesusinandtakeoverpride,thenJesuswon’tstay.Hewillgetrightout. If you think that you’re better than the Joneses, you drive a

bettercar,oreatabettermeal,wearbetterclothesthantheJoneses,then you’re stuck up. Then Jesus will leave that heart at the samedoorHecomeinat. Oh,thisdayof fantastic,fancyput-on^I’mgladforapeoplewhohasandawaythatasurrenderedheart,thatJesuscancomeinandbeLord,andGod,andSaviour,andController.WhenyougetJesusintoyourheart,allthepridewillgoout. I’ll tell you what it will do for you. A good, old fashionbaptismof theHolySpiritwillmakeapairof overallsandatuxedosuitput theirarmsaroundoneanotherandcalleachotheranotherbrother.It’llmakeacalicodressandasilkonehugoneanotherandsay,“Sister.”That’swhatJesusdoeswhenHe’sLord.ButHe’sjustSaviour,well,that’snotenough.If He’saSaviour,HemustbeLordalsotoguideyoutoHissalvation,if He’saSaviour.E-24 There is another little door just around the corner.
