Summary of Changes• Reduce the number of required credits for graduation
from 17 to 15.5
• Math: Three units or more, including Algebra I, Geometry and a math elective
• Lab Science: Three units or more, including biology, physical science and a science elective
• Move non-core subjects outlined in the current graduation requirements into one category.
• Option of allowing extracurricular activities to serve as partial credit for Physical Education and Fine Arts

• A clearinghouse of distance courses offered by providers that have been approved by the South Dakota Department of Education
