PRAISE GOD! The mystery of redemptive suffering trans-

forms our lives, but it is not an easy mystery to accept. Suffering is not attractive. Especially when suffering afflicts innocent people, we cry out to God for justice and relief. Jesus' words today penetrate our hearts: "You are thinking not as God does, but as human be-ings do." We beg the Lord to accept our suffering, then, and to transform it in ways we cannot imagine. Embrac-ing the details and crosses of daily life, we look forward to the day when Jesus comes in glory, revealing to us how he used our sacrifices to bless the world.
