Monday, October 22 6:00 P.m. All are invited to Celebrate the Divine Liturgy of St. IAKOVOS (JAMES) This is an ancient Liturgy from Jeru- salem, which is completely different from the Divine Liturgies attributed to St. John Chrysostom and St. Basil the Great. The Divine Liturgy of St. Iakovos is celebrated twice a year (on the feastday of the Saint, Octo- ber 23 and on the Sunday following Christmas). What is still practiced in this Divine Liturgy is that all who receive Holy Communion will re- ceive the way the clergy do every service (by eating the Body first and then drinking from the Holy Chal- ice). The Liturgy is being celebrated in the eve- ning, so that many of our faithful who work and are not able to attend the week- day service may worship and witness this beautiful and ancient Liturgy!
