Pathways Base Camp Manager Training Session 2Debbie Young and Andrew Welter

Base Camp Manager is a critical club role for the VPE. However, Presidents and Secretaries are backups and this session is also offered to train those officers regardless of their history in Pathways.

Session 4Toastmasters Branding Session “It Takes Two to Make a Brand“ Annetta Works Salley and Suresh Gopalakrishnan

Branding is one of the easiest concepts to understand, yet it is one of the hardest to execute. A brand consists of two active parts: how it’s represented and how it is experienced. In this session we will look at the role each club member plays in brand representation and experience.

2020 DISTRICT 8 DISTINGUISHED TOASTMASTERS CLUBS*

The Distinguished Club Program (DCP) was established by Toastmasters International as a general measure of club success. Each year the Distinguished Club Program recognizes club achievements in education, membership growth, club leadership and club communication. This measure is not the whole of what makes a club successful, but it does reflect the activities that required for success.

To help members achieve their personal goals, clubs are encouraged to define a mission statement and create a Club Success Plan, which for many clubs will be based on the targets outlined in the Distinguished Club Program. The Distinguished Club Program, therefore, has the duel benefit of helping both the club and its members.

Congratulations to all of the clubs on their hard work and accomplishment!

WHAT IS TLIIt’s the Toastmasters Leadership Institute, where Toastmasters from across the district come together to network, share ideas, and be inspired. It’s where newly-elected club officers receive training on how to best serve their clubs. And it’s where any Toastmaster can expand skill sets as a communicator and a leader with additional educational sessions. TLI is not only for the current club leaders — it is for anyone who may be interested in becoming a club officer in the future or those club members who just want to learn more about our wonderful organization!

All districts rely on club officers to conduct the Toastmasters program and keep their clubs healthy and successful. If clubs are to be successful, Club Officers need knowledge and tools, which are provided through training. Trained club officers can result in more satisfied members, more exciting club meetings, more new members, more Distinguished Clubs and more Distinguished Districts.

WHO SHOULD ATTENDEvery Toastmaster can benefit from attending a Toastmasters Leadership Institute! Even if you’re not serving as a club officer this term, “electives” are being offered that cover a variety of topics you’re sure to find of interest. Regardless of whether you’re a club officer, you are welcome to attend, join in the fun, and meet the leaders and future leaders of your district.
