APICS CPIM CERTIFICATION PROGRAM Detailed Scheduling and Planning RMU-CARES and the APICS Pittsburgh Chapter have partnered to offer preparatory classes for the each of the five modules of the APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) examination. This class prepares students for the Detailed Scheduling and Planning module exam. DETAILED SCHEDULING AND PLANNING Focus on the various techniques for material and capacity scheduling. Study detailed descriptions of material requirements planning (MRP), capacity requirements planning (CRP), inventory management practices, and procurement and supplier planning. Topics include: • Recognizing Techniques and Practices of Inventory Management • Mechanics of the Detailed Material Planning Process • Planning Operations to Support the Priority Plan • Planning Procurement and External Sources of Supply. APICS CPIM CERTIFICATION APICS CPIM certification is recognized worldwide as the standard professional competence in operations management. The CPIM certification program has educated more than 80,000 professionals on essential terminology, concepts and strategies related to demand management, procurement, supplier relationships, sales and operations planning, master scheduling, material requirements planning, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, performance measurements, quality control, and continuous improvement practices that include just-in-time, Lean and Six Sigma. The three business process modules (MPR, DSP and ECO) may be taken in any order after the BSC module.
