Location: Graceland West; Chicago, Illinois
Scope: Complete gutting, redesign andexpansion of 2400-square foot historicQueen Anne home. Design + constructionmanagement by David Lloyd.
Challenges: Chopped up Victorian floorplan with small rooms, poor traffic flow,outdated interiors and mechanical +electrical + plumbing systems.
Solution: Expand living space by designingand building new 1200-square foot rearaddition and excavated basement level,creating new floor plan and mechanicalsthroughout home. Resulting "open" floorplan includes kitchen + dining "great room,”home theater and new master suite. Interiordesign appointments detailed in historicallyrespectful manner to bridge home's periodstyle with contemporary living.
