Few concepts were shortlisted and feedback was taken for better results and later, weighted ranking method was used for selecting the final product. Abstract:

visually appealing and comfortable are not available. A portable modular kitchen unit concept meets this need. The

simple principle of modular kitchen is to efficiently make use of space which can be divided into separate units or

3.8 Findings from Ethnography study:

After finishing Ethnography study various areas were found from the ethnography

research some of them are mentioned in the figure 3.5

4.4 Methods and Methodology:

Data collection will be done by user study and market study through

questionnaires, images, videos, observation etc.

QFD generation based on the user requirements and corresponding technical

requirements, and PDS will be generated prioritizing the features in the QFD

Concepts will be generated by sketching.

Here plan to generate five concepts and the digital model will be create with the

detailed features by using Alias studio tools & Catia V5.

Concept evaluation for selecting the final concept will be selecting by weighted

ranking method.

Working model will be made with detailed features and feedback will be

collected.

4.5 Design Methodology:

It is a broad theoretical frame work into which all the defined proper procedures

fit. The table 1.4 shows the methodology chart which is followed in the research process.

6.4 Details of Product:

Details which are not shown in the earlier stage such as switches slot which is

provided for dustbin, locking wheels for moving are shown in the figure 6.2 for better

understanding. Later all the parts of the portable modular kitchen are shown in figure 6.3.

6.6 CAD Detailing:

For manufacturing purpose detailed CAD drawings were made, so that we will

come to know the exact size of the product as well as individual item used in the product.

It gives the detail information about the product. Firstly Assembly details are shown, later

one by one individual part details are shown in this chapter.

Assembly Drawing:

An assembly drawing helps us to know the exact overall dimension of the product

required for manufacturing and also isometric view is shown for representation. All the

dimensions are in mm and it is been scaled 1:3 as shown in the figure 6.5

6.7 Model Making of the Final Concept:

Initially all the required materials such as ply wood, laminates, adhesives, nails,

locking wheels and door locks were purchased before starting the work. Firstly the ply

wood was marked and cut to the required sizes, once that was ready inside laminate has

been cut and fixed with the help of fevicol. Because it is difficult to laminate inside once

the outer frame is ready that the reason the inside lamination process was carried out.

Once the inside lamination was done the outer structure of the product is built. It

is been fixed with the help of nails. The outer structure of the product is shown in the

figure 6.13

6.8 Final Product:

The outcome of the final portable modular kitchen unit is shown in different views

in the figure 6.25 for better visualization.

7 - Validation

7.1 Introduction:

Validation of the final portable modular kitchen unit was done to ensure whether

the product output fulfills the user needs, requirement and expectation. 1:1 full scale

model of portable modular kitchen unit was manufactured to validate the usability,

reachability, aesthetics and ergonomics related issues. Manufacturability issues of the

designed concept were also validated. The outcome of product was shown to the targeted

customers such as bachelors, teenagers and working people to know their reaction and

feedback related portable modular kitchen unit all these were taken place and documented

for reference.
