The Department of Physical Education conducted coaching camp from July second week onwards.

The coaching was given for Foot Ball, Cricket, Kabaddi, soft ball, Boxing, Shuttle Badminton,

Volley Ball and athletics.

a. The Cricket team of our college participated in the Intercollegiate Cricket

Tournament 2016-2017.The Cricket team of our college participated in the Inter

Collegiate 1st match of Cricket Tournament held at St.Xavier’s College,

Trivandrum on 6th September 2016 and 2nd match held at St.Xavier’s College,

Trivandrum on 24th September 2016 and 3rd match of Cricket Tournament held at

LNCPE, Trivandrum on 27th September 2016.

b. Shuttle Badminton team of our college participated in the Inter collegiate shuttle

Badminton tournament held at CET Engineering College, Trivandrum on 22nd to

24th September 2016.

c. Cross country team of our college participated in the Inter collegiate cross country

Championship held at Mar Ivanios College, Mavelikara on 14-15 October 2016.

d. Our college football team participated in the Intercollegiate South Zone football

tournament held at G V Raja Pavilion, University Stadium on 19th October 2016.

e. The Volleyball team of our college participated in the Inter Collegiate volleyball

tournament held at Mannania College, Pangode on 07-09 November 2016.

f. Our College Kabaddi team participated in the Inter collegiate Kabaddi South Zone

tournament held at University stadium, Trivandrum on 17th and 18th November

2016. We got second position in South zone intercollegiate Kabaddi tournament

and qualified for Kerala University inter zone tournament.

g. Our College Kabaddi team participated in the Inter collegiate Kabaddi inter Zone

tournament held at RIET College, Nagaroor, Trivandrum on 23rd and 24th

November 2016 and bagged fourth place in the tournament. Mohammed Bazil, I

DC. Economics was selected for Inter university Kabaddi team. (University of

Kerala).

h. Our College Athletic team (M &W) participated in the Intercollegiate Athletic Meet

held at GV Raja Pavilion, University Stadium, Trivandrum on December 14-16,

2016.

i. Softball (Men) team of our college participated in the Intercollegiate Inter zone

softball tournament held at NSS College, Nilamel on 6th & 7th January 2017.

j. Our College Boxing team participated in the I/C, I/Z tournament held at LNCPE,

Kariavattom on 7th & 8th January 2017. The college Boxing (M& W) team won the

third position in Boxing team championship. Boys section we got one gold medal

two silver medals and three bronze medals. Girls section five silver medals.

k. Softball (Women) team of our college participated in the Intercollegiate Inter zone

Soft ball tournament held at NSS College, Nilamel on 14th & 15th January 2017.

The Inter department competitions 2016-17 were started on 21st February 2017. Cricket, Football,

Volleyball, Kabaddi, Throwball , Shuttle Badminton were conducted. Principal Smt. K.Susy

inaugurated the competition.

The Department of Economics A was the winner of the Cricket tournament and the Department of

Physics was the Runner up.

The Department of History was the winner of the Football Tournament and the Department

of Mathematics was the Runner up.

Football players were introduced by Smt.Sini,Dept.of Malayalam during

Annual sports meet on 21st February 2017

The winner of the Inter department Volleyball tournament was History department. The Runner

of the team was the department of Geology.

The Department of B.Com Finance won the Inter department Throwball (Women) and the

Department of B.Com Hotel Management was the Runner up.

The Inter house Kabaddi tournament was won by the Department of Economics A. The runner up

was the Department of B.Com Finance.

The Department of Physics won the Shuttle Badminton (Men) tournament. The B.Com

Hotel Management was the Runner up.

The Department of B.Com Finance won the Shuttle Badminton (Women) tournament.

Department of Physics was the Runner up.

Annual Athletic meet was conducted on 09th march 2017 at College ground. The program

starts with the prayer. Sri. Praveen R (HOD, Dept. of Physical Education) delivered the welcome

speech. The college Principal Smt.K.Susy delivered the Presidential address. After the inaugural

address Chief guest Dr.K.K.Venu, Director of Physical Education,University of Kerala) hoisted

the flag in the presence of all the teachers and non-teaching staffs and the student’s community.

Smt.Aswathy V ,Department of Physical Education delivered the vote of thanks. The Annual

Athletic meet had a stunning opening with the students march past. All groups incorporated the

active participation of their group members. The event started afterwards.

The Department of Mathematics received best march past award. The Department of

Geology was the Runner up.

Various competitions were conducted for teaching and non-teaching staff.

B.Com finance bagged the overall championship and physics department lifted the runner up

trophy. Salman, Dept. of Zoology, was the Individual Champion for Men section and Jiji.M,

Department of Mathematics was the Individual champion for Women section.The closing

ceremony function was inaugurated by Sri.Sarun Das H (Pro-Kabaddi Player). He distributed

prizes for the winners. The whole program ended with National Anthem.
