Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), housed in the NC Department of Insurance, is a free program established in 1986 to help educate Medicare beneficiaries about Medicare, Medicare supplements, long-term care insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D prescription drug plans and other health insurance options for people with Medicare. Volunteer Counselors meet face-to-face with people. Kathy Driver, a SHIIP Volunteer and TBC member, will be in the TBC office to assist TBC members and Capital Towers residents. Call the church office at 919-787-3740 for an appointment on the following day:

Monday, November 28 • 11:00am - 4:30pm

Drug (Prescription) Plans are quite different and they are designed to be re-examined each year. Why? These policies do not go through underwriting, i.e., the rates are the same for everyone, and insurance companies’ contracts with pharmacies and drug companies may be renegotiated each year resulting in different end costs for you. Additionally, your prescription drugs may change from year

to year. For those reasons, you should use the Drug Plan Calculator at www.medicare.gov to determine which plan will be most economical for you and the specific drugs you take. It even tells you what your drugs will cost at the pharmacies you prefer to use! While the Calculator is user friendly, why not take advantage of a SHIIP Counselor’s help, especially the first time you use it?

Call and make an appointment today!

TBC OCC Shoebox DonationsAs of this writing – before the final Monday of Collection Week, Trinity members have donated a total of 488 Shoeboxes! Thanks to all who have participated in this local - global missions effort! Please don’t let this be the end of your OCC experience. It is only the beginning – now pray for the child(ren) that will receive your shoebox(es). Pray that they will know the Love You are sending their way as a compassionate follower of Christ. Pray especially that they will come to know the Love of Jesus Christ and accept him in their hearts as a Savior and Lord. Who knows – s/he may come up to you in heaven and say “thanks for the Shoebox”!

Raleigh Area Collection CenterThanks so much to ALL of you who volunteered to operate the Raleigh Area Collection Center hosted at TBC again for the 10th year in a row!! It takes a LOT of folks to help greet donors, unpack vehicles, count shoeboxes, pack them into cartons, and load them onto the tractor trailers! As of this writing we have collected a total of 2,200 Shoeboxes from the Raleigh Area and north. This is xxx% greater than at this same time last year! What a joy it has been watching each of you participate in this annual mission endeavor. Yes – it is a LOT of work and a LOT of waiting for vehicles to come. But God is now in the process of blessing your efforts and those of Collection Center Volunteers all over this country.

Steve Isaacs will be our OCC Collection Center Coordinator for 2017. I’m sure he would love to hear what being involved in the collection process has meant to you, and that you will be participating again next year!! His email is: [email protected].

Disaster Relief Volunteers Needed

Want to go and be the Hands of Christ to those who have lost so much in the Hurricane Flooding in Eastern NC? If you are not already registered as a NC Baptists volunteer, please go to www.baptistsonmission.org and register. On that same page, you can indicate what you desire to do, as well as the dates and places that you would like to serve. You will receive an email letting you know exactly where to go on what date. They will be expecting you.

Upcoming date scheduled: December 12-17.

TBC Marriage RetreatFebruary 24-26

Beach Cove Resort, N Myrtle Beach

Give your Marriage a Christmas present by making plans for a Winter Get-A-Way! This year’s theme, “The Road Less Traveled”, will be focusing on some common roadblocks (like time management, mistrust and lack of quality communication) that all marriages face from time to time. We’ll look at how to build a solid foundation that will enable couples to get through these times with the help of marriage enrichment practices. The aim is to provide preparation, purpose and planning within your marriage – a road that only suc-cessful marriages go down. Our leader couple will be Reginald and Julia McClain of Clayton. They have been married for 20 years and are a Better Marriages Trained Leader Couple.

Cost of the retreat including your private Oceanfront Condo with living room and kitchenette, and program fee is $245 per couple. A $100 deposit included in the total is due by December 15. Make your check out to “TBC” and note for “Marriage Retreat”. Don’t wait – rooms are going fast! Encourage your SS Class members to join you! We’ll have a fun time from Friday evening at 7pm to Sunday worship, concluding at noon. Sign-up by contacting Hal Melton at [email protected] or 919-612-4400.

Music CalendarWe enjoyed Sunday’s music of Jack Stanford, Kathy Stanford, Dawn Trollip who are now known as JOYFUL NOISE. Accompanying them was Baron Hignite and Testament who added so much to the music ensemble. This is a beautiful way that our musicians are constantly looking for ways to praise God in worship. Worship leadership and creativity are very much a part of our music ministry at Trinity.

––––––––––––

We are glad to have Ramona Green back with us after a short time away from accompanying our choirs and worship. Our early service accompanist, Barbara Bowen, filled-in for her during this time and we are eternally grateful for her addition to the worship leadership staff. Together, we have one of the most flexible accompanist team that supports one another our music ministry in times of need. We are grateful and blessed by your service!

ThanksgivingWe are grateful dearest Lord for our

bountiful blessings.

But wait… I have had a difficult road. No one or nothing is good in my life.

What will I state as a blessing? No, Lord, there is not much to be grateful

for this Thanksgiving.

But wait a minute! What is that verse?

1 Thessalonians 5:18. “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God

in Christ Jesus for you.”

Does that mean I am to be grateful regardless?

I confess my ingratitude, Lord.

Help me to be a grateful person and to learn all that you want to teach me

through my circumstances.

Thank you, Lord, for helping me to have a grateful Thanksgiving even with

all my problems. AMEN.

Children’s DayMarch 5, 2017
