Effective January 2015, the base wholesale power costadjustment (WPCA) located under the “cost to generate”portion of your electric bill will increase 3.5 mills. For theaverage residential member this will be an additional$3.50 per month.

MVEC’s power suppliers (Great River Energy and BasinElectric) continue to experience higher costs forproducing power, and they are also making majorreliability investments to the transmission grid. Yourcooperative absorbs those charges where feasible; howeverthe balance must be recovered from the membership.

A rate study is underway to ensure all rate classes(residential, commercial and industrial) are producingsufficient revenue to cover their cost. That study andrecommendations by your board of directors will becompleted during the first quarter of 2015. Please watchyour Electric Eye newsletter for further details.

Effective January 2015, the base wholesale power costadjustment (WPCA) located under the “cost to generate”portion of your electric bill will increase 3.5 mills. For theaverage residential member this will be an additional$3.50 per month.

MVEC’s power suppliers (Great River Energy and BasinElectric) continue to experience higher costs forproducing power, and they are also making majorreliability investments to the transmission grid. Yourcooperative absorbs those charges where feasible; howeverthe balance must be recovered from the membership.

A rate study is underway to ensure all rate classes(residential, commercial and industrial) are producingsufficient revenue to cover their cost. That study andrecommendations by your board of directors will becompleted during the first quarter of 2015. Please watchyour Electric Eye newsletter for further details.
