    DATE: April 2010

    TO: Day Students and Parents

FROM: Cheryl Yamamoto, Dean of Student Activities

RE: STUDENT PARKING FOR THE 2010 - 2011 SCHOOL YEAR

Student parking for the 2010 -2011 school year will be greatly affected due to manyconstruction projects that will be occurring on campus. We will be losing twostudents parking lots which will obviously affect the number of student drivers wecan allow on campus.

To maximize the number of student drivers on campus, we will be implementing adecal share program. Sharing a decal means that students may sign up with nomore than one other person to share the decal. Coordinating use of the decal todrive will be left up to the student drivers. Students and families who would like toutilize this option will have first priority to apply. Applications will be acceptedfrom May 10 - May 14, 2010. Application packets must be filled outcompletely (application AND contract) and submitted along with a copy ofdrivers license to the Akahi Student Center. Your packet must besubmitted along with those with whom you plan on sharing your decal.INCOMPLETE APPLICATION PACKETS (those submitted without a copy ofyour drivers license, incomplete form, etc.) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED soplease be sure that everyone has completed his/her packet.

For those who would prefer their own decal, this option is also available ON ALIMITED BASIS. For those applying for an individual decal, applicationswill be accepted from May 17 21, 2010. Application packets must befilled out completely (application AND contract) and submitted along witha copy of drivers license to the Akahi Student Center. INCOMPLETEAPPLICATION PACKETS (those submitted without a copy of your driverslicense, incomplete form, etc.) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Application packets, consisting of an application, contract and student driversmanual, will become available on Monday, May 10th and may be picked up fromAkahi Student Center on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. All vehiclesregistered must belong to a member of the students immediate family.

Please note a students driving record from the prior year has bearing on whetherparking is issued for the current year. If a student has had driving privileges

revoked more than once or has received four (4) or more citations

resulting in a disposition/fine (excused citations are excluded), theapplication will not receive priority regardless of when the application isreceived.

Requests for parking received by the deadline will be filled according to when thecompleted application packet is date and time stamped received, at AkahiStudent Center. Because of the limited number of parking stalls, not all requestsfor parking can always be filled. Applications received after the deadline will bewait-listed and filled on a first come first served basis.

Upon receipt of your application packet, you will be required to sign up to attend adecal meeting. Deadline to sign up for a decal meeting is on or before 3:30p.m., Friday, June 25, 2010. You may also pre-register your vehicle (currentregistration, safety check and no-fault insurance) at this time as long as theexpiration dates fall after August 2010. Otherwise, please bring in the currentpaperwork to the decal meeting.

All decal meetings will be held at Akahi Student Center and the $30.00 parking feewill be collected at that time. Doors will close five (5) minutes after the start of themeeting. STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO SCHEDULE A MEETING OR ATTEND AMEETING FORFEIT THEIR PARKING SPACE AND THE PARKING SPACE WILL
