Application for the Post of: Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator

I am interested in applying for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator recently

advertised in the Ethiojobs Website. The skills I have developed from my work experience and academic

background support my candidacy for the announced position.

As you can see from my resume, the experience I had in different positions with Ethiopian Electric Power

Corporation Provided an opportunity for me to gain experience more than ten years.

Currently, I am working as Senior Economist in Ethiopian Electric Power Company, Which is engaged

only in Construction of power generations and transmission lines, in project management monitoring

and control office.

In addition to my duties, I have prepared and submitted, with the rest of my team, a draft M & E frame

work to the monitoring and control office in need of improving the current operational manual with a

well structured M & E framework. I am using the knowledge and experience I got during the process

design, refer to my CV, as an input for the preparation of M & E Framework. This will help me to design,

formulate and follow up the monitoring and Evaluation documents and instruments in your project.

Furthermore, there was a project called “Universal Electrification Access program (UEAP) Impact

assessment Project” to evaluate the impact of UEAP on development. Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP)

which was earlier known as Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation ( EEPCo) contracted SMEC

International Pty.Ltd. Of Australia to carryout Economic and Social Impact Evaluation study of Universal

Electric Access Program (UEAP). The overall objectives of the study were: Design an impact evaluation

(IE) framework to estimate the socioeconomic benefits of UEAP; Implement the IE, specifically at least

one round of data collection; and Develop the follow-up framework and other monitoring and

evaluation (M&E) systems for UEAP. As a Counterpart staff I participated on the designing, monitoring &

evaluation (DME) conducted during the implementation of the study. I also supported SMEC

international Pty. Ltd. Consultancy service by participating on data collection, interview of community

leaders and woreda administrative and focal group discussion.

Therefore, this exposure will help me to review and evaluate survey questionnaires, assessments,

conduct a household interview and will help me to handle the assignment in your project.
