PhilosophyArchitects such as Rick Joy, Peter Zumthor, Ta-dao Ando, Jorgen Utzon and Alvar Aalto have grown their practices based on the ideals of what critic Kenneth Frampton calls “the return to craft.” Ideas of context, material, environment and hu-man sensibility all play vital roles in the creation and generation of an architecture sustainable for todays requirements and tomorrows needs.

My background of construction experience, ongoing studies into architectural history and theory, coupled with an international perspec-tive has given me the motivation to create las-ting work which strives towards these ideals.

Professional Work

Gruzen Samton Architects + PlannersRenders page::: : Various Projects, NY , 2008 - 2009

New York City, NY

This large NYC office typically has several large projects in-house simultaneously. As a junior architect, I filled two roles during my time here. Working with the project architects and senior design partners, I acted as a CAD drafter for concept, schematic, and construction phases of projects throughout New York City. I also formed part of the 3D modelling team, where I worked with the senior partners to create presentation images for these same projects.These numbers are keyed into the renders on the project page. ( 1 ) Cornell University Human Economics Building, Cornell, NY ( 2 ) Heschel Day Scho ol , NYC, NY ( 3 ) Atria Center , Ossinning, NY ( 4 ) Museo del Barrio, NYC, NY

Joshua Zinder Architecture + DesignCharlie Trotter Restaurant, Las Vegas, 2006 - 2008

Princeton, NJ

Working side-by-side with owner and one other drafter , we designed and delivered this showcase restaurant for internationally renowned chef Charlie Trotter within a very short time. Because of the small team size, I had the opportunity to take responsiblility for all levels of work, including furniture and logo design, shop drawing and contractor review, site visits and surveys, modelling, rendering, and CAD drafting throughout all phases of the project. After completion of this project, I was put in charge of concept design for a proposed renovation to the Princeton Jewish Community Center before moving to NYC.

During this time I researched and visited local architecture offices in addition to the courses I was taking. RBTA is one of the offices I visited, to which I so on applied and began working.

In 2010 I spent the summer semester studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain.

2 million sf mixed-use urban development project. Working closely with the senior partners through sketches and conversations, I was responsible maintaining continuity of the project throughout the project phases up to final delivery. This role includes CAD drafting and detailing, administration of the interior design and 3d modelling teams, and for internal time-management and organization of the project to ensure it always made deadline on-time. I stayed with this project through to completion and was responsible for the final delivery to the local architects in Russia.
