Dear Andrew,
Hey! I’m Brittany Christmas, but I go by Britt. And yes… My last name is Christmas;
you can go ahead and insert your non-witty jokes here. I am originally from Columbus, Ohio, but
I moved to Graham, North Carolina about four years ago. I went from a big city to a small town
no one has heard of! I am here at Charlotte now because my friend forced me tour here. I hesi-
tantly toured and loved the campus. I applied the minute I got home. I admit my first choice was
University of South Carolina, but the out of state tuition was ridiculous. So Charlotte it was, I am
a 49er now! I have always loved Charlotte though. My first time here I went to see my favorite
comedian and ended being able to go on the stage and improv with her which is something inter-
esting about me. But, it was honestly the best experience ever and now all my memories of Char-
lotte are associated with amazing opportunities.
As far as my literary history goes, I’d say I am an average student. I read at the average
level I’d say, the only thing I can’t stand is poetry. I am not too great at interpreting hidden
meanings because I am a very straightforward person. When it comes to writing, I would like to
say I do very well. The more creative I can be the better I write. I expect to improve my writing
skills this semester also. I would like to say that I worry about reading any in class passages be-
cause I can’t read with a lot of background noise other than music. But honestly I am an average
student and am just here to learn.
In the syllabus you used the quote “The universe is made of stories, not atoms.” I really
like that quote because I think it is important to know that everyone has stories and they all are
equally important. Everyone’s actions and lives are what history is in my mind. I feel like you
think the same thing as me since we are doing this assignment about our personal stories and his-
tory. The syllabus over all is reasonable. It is easy to understand and all the policies are fair. And
I really like all the quotes too, they are really good and all inspirational.
One of our UWRT values are the composing process. I think that it is viewing writing
and literature as a process and how the writing process actually happens. It’s important because
you can’t get the final product without the process. I don’t really have any questions for you. I
think most will be answered as we go but knowing me I’ll have a million questions after I turn
this in.
So that’s it, not much to know about me. I am an average student, and I am ready to learn
what this class has to offer and move on to the next great class.
Sincerely,
Britt Christmas
