Early Years1969-1974
Bowie’s first hit song “Space Oddity”. His transformation into “Ziggy Stardust” which lasted from
1972-1974. He had friendships with many other musical artists such as
Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and Mick Jagger. He started the second British music crave in this time carving
a path for artist such as The Clash, Pink Floyd, and Queen.
The Middle Years1975-1980
Wrote the song “Fame” with John Lennon. Killed off the Ziggy Stardust persona for The Thin White Duke. His old band, The Spiders from Mars, left him.
Later Years 1983-2004
He went for a more pop music in this era leaving his weird performance ways behind.
Besides making music he was in movies, the biggest of all the films he was in, “Labyrinth”, came out in this time.
In 2004 during “The Reality Tour”, he had a heart attack on stage.
Family Life His First Family:He married Angela Barnett in 1970. They had one son, Duncan Jones. They divorced in 1980. His Second Family:He married Iman Abdulmajid in1992. They had one daughter, Alexandria Jones.
Fun Facts He shares the same birthday as Elvis. January 8 His right pupil is permanently dilated - due to his friend
George Underwood punching him in the eye while the pair were still at school. The fight was over a girl.
