Northcote Town Hall Civic Square is transformed into a bustling market showcasing craft beer brewers, alongside wine and spirits curated by Thornbury’s Carwyn Cellars. Enjoy coffee and music while you wander around the marketplace which will feature a carefully selected range of boutique food and produce stalls. Presented in partnership with Carwyn Cellars.

For Luul, cooking has always been about generosity and sharing with her community. In this workshop you will learn how to make Sambusas - a stuffed pastry that is a common appetizer in Somali cuisine. Sambusas are even more delicious with dipping sauce and Luul will show you how to make her infamous chilli sauce. All food will be vegetarian and Luul’s chilli sauce will be available for purchase.

ben McMenamin is a passionate local chef, environmentalist, social entrepreneur, educator, gardener and founder of The Social Food Project. ben will discuss the EAT - Lancet Planetary Health Diet - a science-based plan to reshape global food systems and change the way we eat for our health and our planet. You will learn how to make visually stunning meals based on EAT’s weekly menu plan highlighting just how exciting and delicious eating for the planet can be.

Melbourne Polytechnic Event Management students have been involved in Darebin Homemade Food & Wine Festival for over 10 years. Working on the event provides students with the opportunity to put theory into practice and gain practical industry experience. Melbourne Polytechnic focuses on preparing students for their careers and we are proud to work in partnership with them. You can see them in action at Meet the Makers Showcase and visit their stall at Homemade Marketplace to find out more about studying at Melbourne Polytechnic.
