Kim, MD Dr. Steven S.Kim is board certified by American Board of Family Medicine. He received his BA in Human Biology from Stanford University and his MD degree from UC Davis School of Medicine. Dr.Kim has completed his Internship and Residency training in Family Medicine at Glendale Adventis-Loma Linda Medical Center in Glendale, CA in 1992. He was a lecturer in Health Professions & Nursing at San Jose State University from 2004 to 2008. He won the prize of No. 1 instructor in 2008, 2009 at SJSU. Dr. Kim is a faculty member of the University of East West Medicine since 2010. Yong Ming Li, MD, PhD Dr. Li is a Licensed Physician and Acupuncturist, Herbalist, board-certified Pathologist and Dermato- pathologist. He has been practicing, teaching and doing research on traditional Chinese medicine for more than 25 years. Dr. Li earned Bachelor of Chinese Medicine from Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, and practiced there for several years. He subsequently obtained MS from Illinois State University and a PhD in Molecular Immunology from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. He has completed resident training at North Shore University Hospital and fellowship training at Ackerman Academy-Columbia University. Dr. Li has received several Research Awards, Grants, and 4 issued US patents. He also serves as a member for several expert committees at National Institute of Health. Currently, Dr. Li practices integrated medicine and focuses on managing patients with traditional Chinese medicine including acupuncture and herbs. The feature of his practice is “Western diagnosis and Eastern treatment” . Dong Ji, PhD, L.Ac Dr. Dong Ji, PhD, faculty at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego for doctoral program, is the Integrative-Medicine course developer for UCLA medical school students and clinic tutor for medicine residents and fellows for the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine and UCLA Collaborative Centers for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Ji received the doctoral degree in neuroscience at Peking University. Dr. Ji was the editor-in-chief of The World of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the assistant-editor of Chinese Journal of Pain Medicine. He presently serves as a reviewer for the journal of Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Behavior (published by Elsevier) John Nieters, DAOM, L.Ac Present Positions: President of Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences; Private T’ai Ji and Qi Gong instructor; private practice in Alameda, CA. Dr. Nieters has National Certification in Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture. He is also a QME for the state of California and has Diplomate status with the National Board of Acupuncture and Orthopedics. Additionally, he has studied Tai Ji and Qi Gong for over 25 years and has been teaching Chinese internal martial arts for over 15 years.

Dave Liu, Ph.D, L.Ac.DAOM 951 : 11 / 8, 10Dr. Liu is coming from four generations of family medical practitioners, Dave Liu has been learning TCM since 1970. Dr.Liu has received his B.M. in traditional Chinese medicine from Shanghai University of TCM, in 1984 and his Masters, Doctorate, and a Fellowship in TCM/Oriental Medicine in the U.S.Present Positions: Heads Acupuncture division and is professor and academic advisor at ACCHS;President and professor at the American Institute of Acupuncture Orthopedics & Traumatology;Clinical Director, professor, and advisor for the Chinese Medicine Clinic and Education Center in San Francisco, CA.

Robert Chu, PhD, L.AcDAOM 951 : 11 / 15, 16Robert Chu is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, specializing in the Master Tung Acupuncture methods.In his private practice in Los Angeles, he effectively treats pain, a wide variety of internal diseases, gynecological disorders, infertility, and side-effects from cancer treatments. In July of 2004, Dr. Chu was selected as the Acupuncturist to Olympic athletes at the Olympic Trials held in Sacramento, CA.Dr. Chu also lectures nationally and abroad on Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to provide continuing education to MD’s and Acupuncturists. In 2005, he founded ITARA – International Tung’s Acupuncture Research Association, to preserve, standardize, educate, and research new applications of the Tung family system of Acupuncture with integrity and open sharing. He is presently on the faculty at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, teaching students in the Doctorate program. He also supervises externs at the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center in Burbank, CA.

Therese Walsh-Van Keuren, Ph.D, L.AcDAOM 968 : 10 / 25, 26Therese Walsh-Van Keuren received her MSOM from Emperors College in Santa Monica, California.She is certified in Neuro-Emotional Technique,Yoga Therapy, and has a teaching credential from WISC.Therese is the author of the book,The Application of Divergent Meridian Therapy, 2011 and has published several articles in the California Journal of Oriental Medicine (CJOM), including: Classical Chinese Medicine Gynecology: Case Study on Phlegm Formation and Its Role in the Development of Ovarian Cysts (Vol. 23), Sharing the Gift of Oriental Medicine (Vol. 21), Aligning with Time and Space (Vol 20), Divergent Meridians, Part I and II (Vol. 18 and 19), and Sinew Meridians (Vol. 17).Therese practices at the Center for East-West Medicine in Los Gatos, California. She specializes in,immune-deficiency, auto-immune and chronic degenerative diseases. She has a special interest in the fine arts, fiber arts, Chinese brush painting, and yoga for health.

Lee Winters, MDDAOM 968 : 10 / 27DAOM 963 : 11 / 17Dr.Winters has received his MD degree from the UTESA School of Medicine Santiago, Dominican Republic. He had completed his Internship/Residency training in Preventive Medicine and Administration of Professional and Clinical Departments at Veterans Administration Hospital,Seattle, Washington. Dr.Winters had specialized in Health Administration graduating with the Master of Health Administration from University of Washington, Seattle. He has been teaching at Unitek College, Fremont, CA at the School of Registered Nursing since 2004.

Dr.Tien, Wei Yi is a California LAc and is NCCAOM certified. He has received his MSTCM and DAOM degree from UEWM. Currentely, he is teaching TCM Traumatology & Orthopedics, and acupuncture class for master and DAOM program in UEWM. He specializes in orthopedics and pain management.

Thomas Leung, DAOM, LA.c

Dr. Thomas Leung received his Master in Basic Medical Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Diploma in Acupuncture from University of Hong Kong. He gained his Master and DAOM in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in California. Currently, he is a California registered physical therapist and licensed acupuncturist. He has more than 30 years clinical experience, particularly in musculoskeletal system pain conditions. As having knowledge in both medical systems, he has been incorporating acupuncture and physical therapy in his practice, including the myofascial trigger point acupuncture.

Isaac S. Haynes, Ph.D, LA.c

Dr. Isaac S. Haynes, PhD. The Dean of DAOM Program at the UEWM. Graduated from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, After that, he received his Doctorate in Medicine: Acupuncture and Tui Na from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in China. He is also an advocate of "movement therapies" such as Taiqi and Qigong. He is passionate about all forms of natural healing but feels that Chinese Medicine has a unique ability to reach a very large number of people.

Yann Huang, Ph.D, LA.c

Dr. Yann Huang, Professor of Northwestern Polytechnic University Doctoral program and University of East West Medicine DAOM program. He is specializing in research methodology, implementation of health care management information system, development and adoption of cloud based hospital & clinic management systems. Dr. Huang had published many of his researches and journal articles in many U.S. academic research journals. Dr. Huang is also a California License Acupuncturist.

Roger Jahnke, OMD, LA.c

Dr. Jahnke, OMD. He is the chair of Tai Chi and Qigong Dept. of Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine and the director of Training & Research, Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi in Santa Barbara, CA. His expertise in integrative medicine, including Tai Chi and Qigong. He has also consulted with numerous health systems working on developing their own integrative medicine programs.
