Increased concentrations of CO2 can lead

to fatigue, headaches, lack of concentration

and decrease in performance. Vapours from

cleaning agents, building materials, carpets,

furniture, etc. contaminate the air we breathe

with additional pollutants. Thus, proper

QUALITY OF LIFE IN SPITE OF

Many suffer from allergies caused by

filter filters out most of the pollen and dust.

Choosing a M-WRG-K comfort unit enables

convenient control via an infrared remote

control and alphanumeric display. The

M-WRG-K/LCD unit has an LCD display and

keyboard. Various basic programmes can be

set per menu selection for both units to con-

trol humidity, CO2, time and temperature

programmes as well as individual supply

and exhaust air control (operation during

the summer).

The ventilation unit M-WRG-K/ZNH also

Today, energy conservation is just a given and

enormous amounts of money are invested

in the insulation of roofs, façades and win-

dows. The shell of a building is constantly be-

coming more airtight through the increased

demands for energy efficiency (EnEV)

and must be ventilated regularly to pre-

vent moisture damage and the growth of

mould. Thus, home ventilation with heat

recovery is indispensibleindispensable.

The currently still most widely practiced

window ventilation is – at least from the per-

spective of energy – completely insufficient.

Up to 50% of the heat energy is lost through

window ventilation. What sense does it

make to literally “heat the outside of your

home” in spite of the energy saved through

costly insulation?

By opting for a controlled home ventilation

system with heat recovery from Meltem, you

will retrieve most of this lost energy – and all

that while consuming less power: For every

consumed kilowatt hour of electricity, an

M-WRG unit will retrieve 22 kilowatt hours

of heat energy from the exhaust air!

HOW CAN THE M-WRG

VENTILATION TECHNOLOGY

BE INSTALLED IN MY HOME?

The decentralised home ventilation with

heat recovery from Meltem automatically

provides for the proper ventilation in the

home. The ventilation units are mounted

on the inside of an exterior wall. Two pipes

for supply air and exhaust air are directed

to the outside through the wall. The pipes

are covered on the exterior façade with

stainless steel finishes. Space-consuming

and expensive pipes with noise dampers,

such as with a central system, are therefore

not necessary, which makes the installation

significantly faster and easier.

The number of units of the required devices

depends on the number and area of the

rooms to be ventilated as well as the number

of people. Larger rooms (approx. 40m2)can

be ventilated with one unit due to its high

air throughput. The units can be used in all

rooms, even in kitchens, bathrooms or WCs.

A second room can be easily connected via a

flat ventilation duct.

The user can set the desired ventilation level

for each room individually either directly on

the unit or with a remote control.

SENSITIVE AREAS

There is virtually no area that may not

be professionally ventilated. Meltem

ventilation units provide draught-free, fresh

air even in sensitive public buildings at low

energy and operational costs. Whether in

schools, hospitals, and nursing homes or in

commercial buildings – the highly-advanced

ventilation technology can provide more

comfort through fresh, clean air.

It is absolutely obvious: Hospitals have

other needs than private households with

regard to their ventilation technology.

For example, Meltem ventilation systems

provide neonatal and infant units at the

hospital in Weiden with draught-free, pre-

heated fresh air.

Another variation is provided through

the possibility of connecting to a modern

building control system (EIB/KNX,...).

HOW DOES THE M-WRG

VENTILATION TECHNOLOGY WORK?

Stale air is removed from the rooms with

a ventilator and fed to the heat exchanger*

already filtered. A second ventilator draws in

filtered fresh air from outside and directs it

to the heat exchanger as well. At this point,

the stale air and the fresh air pass by each

other in a cross-flow separated through the

aluminium plates. In this process, the heat

from the warm exhaust air is transferred

to the cold fresh air. The cooled, stale air is

directed outside and the warmed fresh air

flows draught-free into the living space.

F I L T E R S

We have placed particular significance on the

filter technology. Only a high-performance

filter can safely protect people and the

rooms to be ventilated against polluting

environmental factors, such as dust, debris,

pollen or insects.

Our M-WRG units use Class G-4 high-

performance filters for supply air and

exhaust air. The large surface (0.36 m2)

allows for long intervals between filter

replacements. Alternatively, you can also

insert an F7 hypoallergenic filter, which will

also retain most bacteria due to its finer filter

insert. In the case of unpleasant odours or

harmful gasses (such as greenhouse gasses,

nitrogen oxide, etc.), we recommend using

the M6 activated carbon filter .

H I G H A I R T H R O U G H P U T

Two radial fans are used to ensure a high

air throughput even under unfavourable

pressure conditions (for example, due

to wind). They are powered by high-

performance and energy-efficient DC

motors. Motors and the unit itself are

controlled by the most advanced electronics,

which ensure that your M-WRG unit is not

only extremely efficient, but also performs

well. At the same time, the units are virtually

noiseless, wherefore they can be used in

bedrooms without a problem.

The M-WRG units have an automatic

antifreeze protection that reliably prevents

the heat exchanger from freezing with

outside temperatures below zero degrees

and guarantees stable operation. When

turning off the unit or in the case of

blackouts, the air flaps are automatically

closed in order to prevent draughts and the

uncontrolled inflow of cold air.

All components are designed to have long-

lasting life cycles additionally through the use

of corrosion-resistant materials.

All M-WRG units are officially certified (TÜV)

and approved by the German Institute for

Civil Engineering.

Meltem-M-WRG ventilation units can be

integrated into the home or building in a

variety of ways. The devices are mounted on

the inside of an exterior wall. The best effect

for comfort and energy efficiency is achieved

if they are attached to the upper third of thewall; however, a minimum distance of 15 cm

from the ceiling should be maintained. The

system can be surface-mounted or flush-

mounted. The flush-mounted installation

is achieved through the flush-mounting

installation kit. In the case of surface-

mounting, only two core drill holes in the

wall are required. This is particularly well-

suited in the area of renovation.

Through the use of a ductwork adaptor,

the unit can ventilate a second room (e.g.

bedroom and bath, bedroom and closet,

etc.) via a flat duct.
