Centro di Servizio per il Volontariato (CSV), is a non-profit

organization that runs a centre offering free services to all

volunteers and associations involved in voluntary activities.

The CSV is composed by 120 volunteer organizations in the city

and in the province of Vercelli and supports

and offers services to 253 local organizations.

The CSV offers tools, skills and initiatives to develop

the culture of solidarity, to promote and strenghten

the activities and projects in this field.

The Centre offers all voluntary organizations several services

for free: the staff provides the volunteers with professional

advice about planning and implementing new projects, it

organizes as well training courses on various subjects, and gives

information about local and national voluntary activities.

Since 2008 CSV has been active on the “Youth in Action” programme,

especially in Action 2: European Voluntary Service, giving support to

all the youngsters interested in doing a project abroad. CSV helps

them with finding the right project, analysing their motivations and

expectations and with all the formal issues.

CSV started by being both a coordinating and a sending

organization.

In year 2009 CSV was the

coordinating organization for a

hosting EVS project. Together with

two local voluntary organizations

we hosted 6 young volunteers

coming from different parts of

Europe such as: Portugal, Spain,

Turkey and the Russian Federation

The volunteers spent 10 months in

Vercelli, getting in touch with our culture,

traditions, language. They learned how to

deal with the activities and the

responsabilites of their work and

especially they learned how to share

spaces and habits. They all came from

different backgrounds and had different

lifestyles and this experience made them

understand a lot about themselves.

In year 2010 our first volunteer left for an EVS project in Estonia.

Angela spent 6 months in Narva, working in a kindergarden

teaching English to children and also to youngsters in the city.

Since her experience she is our most passionate EVS promoter!

On July 1st 2011 Francesca left for her EVS project in Germany. She

is spending a year in Oldenburg doing activities in schools about

music and theatre, she is an enthusiastic clarinet player! She is

really happy about the multicultural experience she is living and

keeps a blog to share all the

adventures she is living with all the

people interested in doing such a

project.

Latest update!!

Another sending project was approved!

Lara will leave for Luxembourg in February 2012 for a 10 month

project with an organization that fights poverty and hunger!

CSV main priority is to promote the programme and the EVS opportunity using different tools such as a weekly

newsletter, radio interviews, cards and meetings in schools.

Many other young potential volunteers from Vercelli but also from neighbour towns are getting interested in EVS.

CSV is glad to accompain them through the path of project searching and all the application phases.
