Introduction

Introduction This document is intended for Cryoserver users and shows you how to install the PST Creator. Step

by Step Instructions of how to use the PSTCreator.

Cryoserver is an email archive, storing in real time all the email in/out and around the organisation in

a secure and tamper evident way.

On occasions customers may need to export a bulk of emails out of the Cryoserver into a PST format.

Cryoserver can export emails into a zip file containing individual .emls which can be opened

individually with a mail client. As an additional step the Cryoserver PST Creator can convert these

.EMLs inside the zip file(s) into PST(s).

Using Cryoserver Cryoserver allows you to review any email that have ever received or sent since it started archiving

via various search techniques including:

Search for emails by sender/receivers/group email addresses

Selectively search for email with or without their attachments

Specify words to include or exclude from the search

Specify words for searching for an exact match or words that sound similar.

You can specify search criteria for one or several words. Cryoserver will rank email and documents

higher than others, according to their relevance.

Privileged users can export these emails using the icon, which will put the emails into a zip file.

Logging In

To export emails from Cryoserver you will need to login as a Cryoserver Privileged User. Typically it

will be: https://IPaddress/cryoserver with a username: username_priv

Searching There are two search two methods; Standard and Advanced. Both methods enable you to generate a

list of emails that are ranked according to how closely they match your search criteria and can be

exported:

Standard. Simple searches

Advanced. Enhanced search criteria

Standard Searches

When you log in to Cryoserver, the Search tab is selected by default. Standard searches are used to

retrieve email where you know any of these details:

Who it was from

Who it was addressed to

Any words in the subject or body

Approximate start and end dates when it was sent or received

File names of attachments

Any words in the name or body of the attachments you are looking for

Search all correspondence to and from an address.

Use as many search criteria as possible to achieve the most accurate results. The more criteria you

enter, the closer the results will match what you are looking for.

Note: If you leave a blank field, it is not used for searching.

Installing Cryoserver PST Creator

Pre-requisites: Windows machine 32 or 64 bit, .NET Framework 4.0 and Outlook 32 bit.

Or

Pre-requisites: Windows machine 32 or 64 bit, .NET Framework 4.0 and Outlook 64 bit.

To install .NET Framework needs to be installed before the PST Creator.

Currently this can be found at: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=17718

You may need to restart your computer once the installation of the .NET framework has been

completed.

http://apps.cryoserver.com/PSTCreator/ and download the most recent version

Ver1_3_6 - to go with 32 bit Outlook

Ver1_3_6(x64) – to go with a 64 bit Outlook

Download and run the installation.

Select Run:

Zip file directory is where the Cryoserver zip file are located. The output directory is where the PST

areas are saved / exported.

PLEASE NOTE: When pressing the Start button, there WILL be a pause ( 60 seconds or more) before

the processing starts. During this phase the program is opening up the zip file and doing a count of

how many .EMLs to process. Once the calculation has been completed the application will start to

process the .EML to PST conversion.

Within Outlook: File > Open > Open Outlook Data File (.pst)

Browse to the PST file.
