Sunday morning MeditationsMeditationsMeditations

“...Sit and rest and refresh your soul. Eat of the fruit and drink the wine.

All, all is yours, and you are welcome.” —The Science of Mind text

Each week’s is led by a CLC practitioner, and lasts about 35 minutes, ending in time to comfortably get into the 11:00 celebration. There is music to enhance as you are guided into a

restful state, and inspirational read‐ings to tap into your spiritual center. Most sessions will end with a spiritual mind treatment based on the theme of the readings. Don’t be concerned about being late. There is an easy way to quickly get into the flow. Stand a moment outside the door and bring yourself to complete silence. Maintain that silence as you enter. You’ll find yourself suddenly present in the meditation and all is well. SUNDAYS 10:15‐10:50AM, upstairs in the Learning Center.

Each one of us is touched by grief in our life whether it be the death of a loved one, the death of a pet, divorce, loss of a job, or almost any loss we may not even realize we are

grieving. Grief counseling expert, Dr. Louis LaGrand, has written a practical guide to navigating grief — Healing Grief, Finding Peace: 101 Ways to Cope With the Death Of Your Loved One. While specifically addressing grief resulting from a death, these strategies are applicable to anyone experiencing grief due to loss. Come join minister Debra Morwood on SUNDAY mornings, 9:45‐10:45, in the Quimby Room to discuss this book and the valuable insights Dr. LaGrand shares in it. SUNDAYS, NOVEMBER 29 through DECEMBER 27. It Is What It Is, Or Is It?It Is What It Is, Or Is It?It Is What It Is, Or Is It? Known as “The Clarity Guide,” Robin Roberts assists people in sorting through their challenges, wants and desires, creating clarity and taking action. She has had a private practice since 2007 both here and in Bryan/College Station. She offers work‐shops for both personal and professional vision creation, and is writing a book, Life Lessons From Everyday Events: Accessible Wisdom. Robin joined Creative Life in January after moving to the area from Bryan/College Station in the fall of 2014. She has two sons, Adam (22) who lives in Dallas and is a flight atten‐

dant with American Airlines, and Skylar (20), a student at Belmont University in Nashville. Robin loves to sing and can often be heard singing here at CLC. You might also catch her onstage in one of the Conroe theater productions when she can fit it in! Robin says, “Every day we have opportunities all around us to learn. It’s just that sometimes we forget — or resist — being the student. Robin’s talk focuses on how to identify and then use these lessons to assist ourselves in creating ever‐expanding, fulfilling lives. Come hear her presentation, “It Is What It Is, or Is It?” on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4.

Craft project Craft project Craft project group Do you have a project that is just waiting for you to pick it up and complete it? A new group will be starting soon to finish our creative efforts. Bring your ideas and projects to the group. Let’s be creative together, supporting each other to finish that wood work, painting, short story, weaving, making jewelry, etc.

Perhaps we may find a need and work together to bring completion. Our Center is truly a “Creative Life” experience. Pull out that unfinished stepping‐stone kit, birdhouse, beadwork, lap blanket, or whatever you are working on that just needs completion and share a creative time together. Let’s first meet and plan a good time and place to meet and make it happen — camaraderie, inspiration, and good fun. coming from combined creative minds. The CLC Children’s and Youth Services Department is devoted to celebrating the spiritual development of each child we teach. Children begin their Sunday learning adventures in the registration area in the youth foyer, then move to their classrooms, returning to the Great Hall to be reunited with their

parents in time for the closing song. Some Sundays we offer special theme workshops for the kids, too. ••• For parents: age‐appropriate prayer/treatment opens all the classes, and for each class there is age‐appropriate discussion of the monthly theme and creative projects to enhance the learning. ••• Just after noon all the teachers and children gather in the reception area of the Learning Center for our closing prayer circle. Following this, the teachers will bring the children to you in the Great Hall. If you have any questions or concerns about our classes, Debra is in the youth lobby from 10:15‐11AM on SUNDAYS, or call her at (281) 651‐9295 or connect by e‐mail to

What we teach our childrenWhat we teach our childrenWhat we teach our children We teach our children that God is Life — the Life within each of them and in all Creation — that all people are children of the One God, and therefore, are all brothers and sisters. ••• We teach that God is all‐inclusive and we are each created in the image of God — Good. ••• We teach that God is Love, and we honor God‐in‐all through love, not fear. ••• We teach that sin is simply a mistake and when we make mistakes, we are punished by them, not by God. ••• We teach that God is Spirit and present everywhere, that this Spirit is within us and speaks to us through our minds when we are willing to listen. ••• We teach that there are spiritual laws that must be understood and followed, just as we follow human laws. ••• We teach that religion is something to be used every day, not just on Sundays. ••• We teach that Religious Science is a religion that can be used at home, at school and at play; that since God is within us, heaven is also within us, that is we learn to live our lives in harmony with God's Law, we live in heaven now. ••• We teach that keeping the mind focused on good causes a richer experience of life. ••• We teach that God is truth and beauty, peace and harmony; that as we grow to be more like God, our lives will be filled with health, happi‐ness and success. ••• We teach that nothing is too wonderful to happen, nothing is too good to be true: everything is possible to God through me and you! —adapted from a work by Dorothy QuigleyDorothy QuigleyDorothy Quigley

SundaySundaySunday talkstalkstalks online!online!online! Exciting access to the Creative Life teaching has launched online at creativelife.org/sundaytalks.htmlcreativelife.org/sundaytalks.htmlcreativelife.org/sundaytalks.html, where you can find archived Sunday messages from 2012 forward. A CLC Sunday encouragement is now as close as your computer, smartphone, or tablet, anytime you like. You can also easily share these talk links via social media or email. The archived sound files contain the Sunday talks only, more or less 37 minutes’ worth. They’re sorted by month and year and accompanied by thumbnails of each month’s series graphic. New talks will added quarterly. And just like at a CLC Sunday in the Great Hall, the talks are free and donations are encouraged to support our presence and our outreach.
