Employment History
Self Employed Freelance Graphic Designer (2013 – Current) My freelance work has allowed me to work with a number of different clients such as TBC Records, Parallel Sounds and Southern Sonancy among many other previous contracts. I am responsible for the creation of designs used in clients’ advertising such as logos, event posters, flyers and album covers. This employment has taught me the importance of keeping to a professional standard with whoever I happen to work with, within a specified time frame while multitasking between different projects Being a creative person is something I’ve done since I was old enough to hold a pencil and scribble something on whatever was in front of me, Visually creating things is one of my passions and knowing that people see and appreciate my hard work is something I look forward to and pushes me to be better than I was befor
Commission Based Customer Sales Advisor Leela Promotions, AppCo Group (October 2016) A short but rewarding experience, in my time at Leela Promotions I was dropped into a crash course of sales, working in a self-employed sales position and spent every week-day morning training for all possible positions I’d be in when selling to a customer. This job helped me develop my people skills further than I thought I could, and has helped to push me to be a stronger person.
Server, Waiter, Barstaff, Runner
The Bluff Inn, Haven Holidays (March – September 2016) During this employment I took responsibility for every job role relevant to front of house and bar. This was a big learning curve as I was thrown into multiple sections of the restaurant. I was often used on evening shifts in peak season for my ability to handle well under pressure. I’ve dealt with an endless number of customer requests and a quite a few complaints. I dealt with this by adapting to their needs and trying my best to make sure they have a wonderful experience in their time at The Bluff. While working there I gained employee of the month within the holiday park that the Bluff was situated in. A great job experience overall.
Barista, Waiter and Bar Staff Renaissance Café, Penzance (September 2015) My employment entailed greeting customers upon entry to the café and making and serving a selection of hot drinks, alcoholic beverages and food. In addition to this I was often responsible for cleaning tables and the bar, as well as setting up for the next shift.
Cocktail Bar Staff
The Attic Cocktail Bar, St Ives (Summer 2015) I was responsible for serving a selection of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages in a loud and busy environment. This employment demonstrates my ability to work under pressure and to meet customer demands as well as how to maintain a high professional standard in difficult situations. Furthermore, I was often involved in both the opening and closing of the business and preparing the bar for service.
Bar Staff
The Dynamite Club, St Ives Bay Holiday Park (Summer 2014) I was responsible for greeting guests and creating a family friendly atmosphere at the bar. I served and mixed alcoholic beverages and helped with a number of tasks to ensure a smooth running of the bar throughout the evening. These tasks included changing barrels, cleaning and rotating stock. I was responsible for my own section of the bar. I was taught how to communicate effectively within a team and how to be adaptable within my working role.
Holiday Home Cleaner
St Ives Bay Holiday Park (2012 – 2013) My role involved cleaning guest accommodation to a professional five star standard. I was responsible for reporting all major and technical issues to an authority and was trusted with the keys to most of the holiday homes and caravans in the area I worked within.
