Welcome to Matilda! The famous Roald Dahl story has been wonderfully transformed into this magical musical. Matilda shows us the ability to overcome any obstacle no matter our size, gender or age. At first glance, Matilda can be seen as a lovely, whimsical story of a little girl’s unusual set of circumstances and how she deals with them. Yet digging deeper we find a character that we can all connect with; fighting the good fight, never giving up, and sometimes having to be a “little bit naughty” in order to get through the day. Nothing too harmful or frightening, and always incorporating a big dose of joyful fun. It gives me great pleasure to bring this production to life at Coronado Playhouse with an incredibly talented (and very cute) cast! My love of directing and co-creating a story such as this, with a stellar production team, only inspires me to continue to BE

in my life with humor, laughter and a lot of love. I hope the same for you, the audience. After all, there really is a little bit of Matilda in all of us!Rayme Sciaroni Director
