  • General

    This guide describes the console controls responsible for Aurora HDR functions.

    Basic HDR adjustments

    CONTROL FUNCTION

    Temperature Makes the image warmer or cooler, essentially adding cyan or yellow to change the color temperature.

    Tint Adjusts the amount of green and magenta in the image, which is useful for removing color casts.

    Exposure Adjusts the global luminance of the image.

    Contrast Adjusts the overall contrast.

  • Color

    Highlights Adjusts the brightness of the brightest areas in the image.

    Blacks Sets the black point in the histogram and adjusts black tones in the image.

    Whites Sets the white point in the histogram and adjusts white tones in the image.

    Clarity Adjusts the amount of HDR enhancement.

    Shadows Adjusts the brightness level of the darkest areas in the image.

    CONTROL FUNCTION

    Vibrance A Smart Saturation control that increases the saturation of less-vibrant colors more than the saturation of more-vibrant colors.

    Saturation Adjusts the color saturation of the image.

    FN + Contrast Controls color contrast.

    CONTROL FUNCTION

    Control Dial (CD) Activates the Crop/Rotation tool; a second press applies changes.

    Control Dial (CD) + Fn Resets the crop angle (only the angle).

    D1 Adjusts crop size (if pressed, D1 resets only the crop size, not the aspect ratio).

    Arrows Moves the crop area over the image.

    Rotating CD Increases/decreases the tool tip size.

    CONTROL FUNCTION

    Rotating CD Increases/decreases the tool tip size.

    Rotating CD + Fn Increases/decreases the opacity of the Fill tool.

    L1 Activates the Brush tool/ switches the Brush tool to Paint mode.

    FN + L1 Switches from Brush to Erase mode.

    Pressing CD Applies changes.

    D1 Adjusts tool tip softness.

  • Gradient Mode

    Pressing CD Applies changes.

    Rotating CD + Fn Mask feather.

    L2 Activates the Radial mask.

    D1 Rotates the mask.

    D2 Adjusts the mask height.

    FN + D2 Adjusts the mask width.

    Arrows Moves the mask.

    CONTROL FUNCTION

    Rotating CD Rotates the gradient.

    L3 Activates the gradient mask.

    D1 Changes the gradient size.

    CONTROL FUNCTION

    Hue Sets HSL scrolls to adjust the hue of the selected color.

    Sat Sets HSL scrolls to adjust the saturation of the selected color.

    Lum Sets HSL scrolls to adjust the luminance of the selected color.

    HSL scrolls Adjust colors.

    P1–P8 Selects from the first eight available presets.

    FN + P1–P8 Selects from the first six preset categories plus Favorites and User Presets.

    Rotating CD Sets the strength of the selected preset.

    CONTROL FUNCTION

    Undo Jumps to the previous state in the workflow, which can be either a state in the image editing history or a user movement within the app.

    Redo Jumps to the next state in the workflow, which can be either a state in the image editing history or a user movement within the app.

    FN Toggles between opened editing programs (i.e. will jump to an editing program from anywhere in the operating system).

    ScreenMode User-definable, but by default makes the image full-screen with no tools visible.

    Before/After Reverts the whole image to the version before editing. A second press reverts back to the edited image.

    Before/After + Fn Places before and after images side by side.

    Export  User-definable, but by default opens the export dialog.

    Arrows Navigates between presets.

    D1 Sets the intensity of the polarizing filter.

    D2 Sets the intensity of HDR Denoise.

    All dials and scrolls (except for CD and function buttons)

    Reset parameters of controls to default values.

    When a control is pressed, it returns the control parameter to the default value. 

    For example, if you adjust the saturation to 31 and then press the dial, the saturation will be reset to 0.
