Complete a fingerprint-based criminal history records check. Fingerprint background check cost varies based upon the IDPH-vendor the applicant chooses. Do not proceed to the next step until the criminal history check is successfully completed. 3. Schedule a date and time to complete the 21 manual skills test with an IDPH-approved evaluator. The cost for the 21 manual skills test is $199. To schedule a time, contact KCC’s Office of Continuing Education and Career Services at 815-802-8207. Upon successful completion of the manual skills test, IDPH will mail you a second packet to register for the written exam. 4. Register to take the written exam. The written exam fee is $65.
