Configuration of a GEO-SLOPE license service in FLEXnets lmadmin
System requirements / Prerequisites:
To configure a GEO-SLOPE specific license service using lmadmin, you must first have Flexeras FlexNet
License Server lmadmin installed and running. The license server and installation instructions can be
downloaded directly from theFlexnet license server manager homepage.
** lmadmin Installation notes:
Please note that lmadmin requires the Java Runtime Environment before installing.
When installing lmadmin 11.10.0 be sure to enable run as a service and start service now
Configuring and starting the GEO-SLOPE License service
Once lmadmin is installed and running, downloadlmadmin-geoslope.zipfrom our website and
unzip the file to the install folder for lmadmin. Typically this is C:\Program Files (x86)\FLEXnetPublisher License Server Manager.
Once lmadmin is installed and the GEO-SLOPE lmadmin files have been unzipped, configuring the
licenses service is completed in 3 simple steps :
1. Install the required anchor service
2. Activate your entitlement
3. Configure and start the license service in lmadmin.
In the Start Menu search box area type cmd, then right-click cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator.
Within the command prompt dialog, change the directory to \FLEXnet Publisher License Server
Manager\geoslope and then type GSIUtil.bat to launch the GEO-SLOPE License Utility.

1. Install the Required anchor Service
Enter # 1 - Install the required FLEXnet anchor service. This will return the message:
Successfully installed anchor service for publisher geoslope, product geostudio.
Return code is 2002
2. Activate your entitlement
Enter # 3 -Activate your Entitlement. You will be prompted for the entitlement ID provided to you by
GEO-SLOPE for your network license(s). The activation ID is an all numeric value in the format: 1234-
123456-123456-1234 . A successful activation will return the message:
Response processed successfully. Actions were:
Create fulfillment " FID_1234x1234_1233x1x23x4__1xx2"
Upon continuing, a notepad instance will open displaying the full details of your entitlement. You
should save this file for later reference or can regenerate the report later by selecting #5 to view your
activation status.
At this point you can exit the GEO-SLOPE License Utility.

3. Configure the license service in lmadmin.
You can access the FLEXnet lmadmin web console athttp://localhost:8080
Click on Administration in upper right corner. The default User Name and Password is admin
Click on the Vendor Daemon Configuration tab on the left
Delete the demo service
Click Import license and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\FLEXnet Publisher License Server
Manager\geoslope\licenses\geoslope.lic. , check overwrite license file on server and then click
on Import License. Once the license file has been imported, you should receive warning that
vendor service is unable to start and the location where it expects the geoslope.exe vendor file
to be placed.
** If you get the error Cannot upload the license file to a directory:licenses\geoslope. copy the
license C:\Program Files (x86)\FLEXnet Publisher License Server
Manager\geoslope\Licenses\geoslope.lic to your desktop and then import thelicense from there.
Click Ok and then you should see the service Status is NEVER_STARTED

On the Vendor Daemon Configuration screen, locate the geoslope vendor daemon and
clickAdministerto make changes to the configuration.
In the box labeled Vendor Daemon Location: place the relative path to the geoslope.exe vendor
file. The path should now read: geoslope\geoslope.exe
Click Save. The status should change to: Successfully updated the vendor daemon configuration.
Click Start on the vendor daemon screen to start the GEO-SLOPE license service.
Once you refresh the screen, the daemon status should change to RUNNING.

Once running, click Dashboard on the upper-right corner and choose Concurrent to display your network
licenses and to view all of the detailed information, including usage, of your Activated GEO-SLOPE
Licenses.
You can clear any errors or warnings listed in the alerts from the initial setup and configuration. You can
also set the Dashboard to display only the Concurrent license models by selecting the Concurrent radio
button under the Server Configuration Tab | User Interface.
Removing the GEO-SLOPE license service and returning the activation license
Removing the geoslope licenses service is completed in 3 simple steps :
1. Stop and Delete the license service in lmadmin.
2. View your activation status to obtain the fulfillment ID
3. Return the Entitlement
In lmadmin you will need to first stop and then delete the geoslope service.
In the Start Menu search box area type cmd, right-click cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator.
Within the command prompt dialog, change the directory to \FLEXnet Publisher License ServerManager\geoslope and then type GSIUtil.bat to launch the GEO-SLOPE License Utility.
Select #5 View activation status. This will query any trusted storage licenses present on the PC and
write them to a Notepad window. You will need to record the Fulfillment Id to be entered when you
select return an activation.

Select #4 Return and activation. You will be prompted for the Fulfillment ID. A successful return will
return the message :
Response processed successfully. Actions were:
Delete fulfillment "FID_1234x1234_1233x1x23x4__1xx2"
At this point you can exit the GEO-SLOPE License Utility.
