This e-brochure provides details of venue hire at the Preston City Campus and Westlakes Campus, UCLan for meetings, conferences, product launches, training courses, exhibitions and team away days. PRESTON - PRIME LOCATION - THE PREFECT VENUE Visitors to Preston will enjoy major attractions with the magnificent Harris Museum, housing a collection of art and sculpture as well as new and innovate exhibitions. The modern shopping centres and thriving markets will appeal to retail enthusiasts. Sporting people will appreciate the Preston North End Football Ground, the UCLan Sports Arena and the national cycling route of the Guild Wheel which encircles the city.

There are a variety of restaurants and pubs with an excellent night-life as well as premier entertainment at the Preston Guild Hall and Charter Theatre.

Preston is surrounded by breath-taking countryside with the Ribble Valley, Beacon Fell Country Park, Cuerden Valley, Forest of Bowland and the magnificent Lake District all on the doorstep. All of these provide excellent opportunities for many outdoor activities including mountain biking, sailing, climbing or walking.

VENUES WITH VERSATILITY Here at the University of Central Lancashire we offer a rich diversity of venues for meetings, seminars, training days, presentations, conferences, exhibitions, product launches, award ceremonies and examinations at the Preston City Campus. The campus is conveniently located for all City Centre amenities. Ranging from large theatres to informal meeting rooms, our venues can be hired individually or as a combination according to your requirements.

AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT AND TECHNICAL PROVISION All of our venues have audio facilities to support your event requirements. Our team of trained technicians will be pleased to offer advice on the equipment most suited to your presentation. Video conferencing is also available on request.

ACCOMMODATION We have a choice of accommodation located within walking distance of the main Preston City Campus venues. Most of the accommodation is en-suite and includes linen, WI-FI and tea and coffee making facilities.

LEISURE There are a wide range of facilities available on request for guests wishing to participate in individual or teams sports. We can also provide away day and team building activities.

HOSPITALITY Our extensive choice of menus caters for all tastes and special diets. This can be complemented with a fine selection of wine. Our team of highly experienced catering staff can satisfy your requirements from a small team meeting to a champagne reception and lavish formal banquets. We have a variety of restaurants which offer a selection of hot and cold menus.

Residential conference delegates can be offered a full hospitality package and Conference Organisers are provided with sample menus. Here in Conference and Events we are happy to discuss your ideas and offer suggestions for conference dinners or themed evening meals to make your event that extra bit special.

HARRINGTON BUILDING This large three-storey building is suitable for a wide range of meeting and events. Harrington Building’s location within Preston City Campus provides convenient access to car parks, restaurants and bus stops. It is situated towards the north of the Campus and within walking distance from Preston City Centre.

Foyer This foyer is adjacent to the theatre and has a welcoming and modern feel. It is an ideal space for conference registration and displays.

Harrington Theatre Harrington Theatre has a capacity of 479 in tiered seating. The semi-circular auditorium has excellent acoustics, making it a popular choice for conferences, Annual General Meetings and awards ceremonies. There is a flat-floored area at the front of the lecture theatre for presentation purposes, with a presentation lectern. The theatre also includes a fitted induction loop.

Meeting/Training Rooms Harrington Building offers a range of flexible rooms which can be used in many different ways, such as classroom, boardroom, U-shape discussions or theatre style. All of these rooms are suitable for training, small meetings or syndicate rooms, which can be booked in conjunction with the theatre.

Restaurant Located off the side of the entrance foyer is a large 250 seat restaurant. This venue is suitable for conference dinners, exhibitions and large events.

GREENBANK BUILDING Greenbank Building is located adjacent to the Harrington Building. This is a popular venue and is situated towards the north of the Preston City Campus. It forms an ideal building for organisers who require a large venue with theatre and syndicate rooms. This venue is within walking distance of the Preston City Centre.

FoyerThe Greenbank Foyer features a full height central atrium on the ground floor which forms a light and airy area. This area can be used for conference and meeting registration or exhibition space.

Greenbank TheatreThis is a tiered theatre which can seat up to 210, with excellent acoustics and high quality audio visual equipment available on request. The theatre is fitted with an induction group.

The front of the theatre incorporates a full-width, raised stage area with fully-equipped lectern, making it a perfect venue for conferences, presentations and awards ceremonies.

Meeting/Training RoomsGreenbank Building contains a multitude of rooms of varying sizes, suitable for interviews, meetings, and training or as syndicate rooms.

DARWIN BUILDING Situated on the east of the Preston City Campus and within walking distance of the Preston City Centre, this impressive building boasts a striking 450 seated theatre with two meeting/training rooms and a computer room.

Foyer Adjacent to the theatre, the foyer area is suitable for registration, receptions and display purposes.

Darwin Theatre This theatre has excellent acoustics, making it a popular choice for conferences, Annual General Meetings and award ceremonies. The projection system is capable of projecting 3D images and video. There is a flat-floored area at the front of the theatre for presentation purposes. The theatre is also fitted with an induction loop.

Meeting/Training Rooms Located on the second and third floors, the Darwin Building offers a select range of meeting/training rooms.

Computer Room Located on the third floor, this large room is suitable for groups of up to 45 people.

BROOK BUILDING Within walking distance of the City Centre, the Brook Building is located on Victoria Street, across from the Harrington Building. This four-storey building has a wide selection of meeting rooms, suitable for a variety of different sized groups.

Meeting/Training Rooms Located on all floors, the Brook Building offers a range of meeting and training rooms suitable for groups of up to 96 people. The rooms can accommodate various events from meetings to training sessions.

Computer RoomLocated on the ground and second floors, these rooms are suitable for groups of up to 54 people.

ADELPHI BUILDING Located on the University’s Preston City Campus, this building has a selection of tiered theatres, the largest of which is Adelphi TVI. In addition, there are executive style meeting rooms, which makes this an ideal venue for formal meetings. Situated within walking distance of the City Centre.

TVI Theatre Located just off the main entrance foyer on the ground floor. The seating capacity of the theatre is 101 and the theatre is fitted induction loop. The adjacent foyer provides a suitable area for registration and small displays.

Conference Room Located on the second floor, this room is perfect for board meetings, presentations or workshops. It has a capacity of 34 people seated in a boardroom style. The Conference Room is fitted with an induction loop.

For larger groups, hospitality can be provided in an adjacent foyer.

Committee Room Also, located on the 2nd floor, this room is perfect for board meetings, interviews or presentations. It has a capacity of 22 boardroom style.

Tiered U-Shape Boardroom

LIVESEY HOUSE Livesey House is situated in the Preston City Centre and is a short walk from the train station. This is an ideal venue for meetings and training organisers with a great selection of rooms from small flexible rooms to larger rooms accommodating up to 80 people. As the closest building on campus to the central shopping district, it makes a great choice for a City Centre venue. This building also has a café on site that provides a variety of refreshments and snacks.

Meeting/Training Rooms Located on all floors of the building you will find a large variety of adaptable rooms which can be set up in a variety of styles. All of these rooms are suitable for training and meetings. There are also a selection of fixed seated large rooms for training.

MEDIA FACTORYThe Media Factory has a selection of specialist rooms including dance and TV studios, small theatres, and digital photographic studios. This is a modern building and an ideal venue for media training or performance.

Dance Studios There are two Dance Studios situated in the Media Factory and they are ideal for dance training.

Theatres On the ground floor of this building, you will find three small flat floored performance theatres which are ideal for small audience performances from drama to dance.

Photographic, Recording and TV Studios On the second floor of the building you will find the technical studios with up to date equipment ready for training. If you are looking for a venue for a photo shoot with digital photographic equipment then look no further. Our Technical Services Team can provide advice and assistance with equipment requirements for our studios.

HARRIS BUILDING Harris Building is situated next to the Foster Building on the Preston City Campus. This impressive building was designed by the architect Henry Cheers and originally accommodated the Harris Institute in 1882. The building boasts a number of period features whilst providing modern style rooms with presentation equipment. It is a great venue for training and meetings or small conferences.

Meeting/Training Rooms Located on all floors of the building you will find a large variety of adaptable rooms which can be set up in a variety of styles. All of these rooms are suitable for training, small meetings or syndicate rooms, and can be booked in conjunction with the theatre. The Moot Court Room provides an unusual venue for hire and is situated on the ground floor of the Harris Building. The Court Room can accommodate 54 people.

Theatre Harris Theatre has a capacity of 112 in tiered seating. The auditorium has excellent acoustics, making it a popular choice for conferences, Annual General Meetings and awards ceremonies. There is a flat-floored area at the front of the theatre for presentation purposes, with a presentation lectern. The theatre also includes a fitted induction loop.

Computer RoomsLocated on the second floor these rooms are suitable for groups of up to 35 people. The rooms are ideal for computer training activities.

VERNON BUILDINGSThe Vernon Buildings offer great flexible venues for a host of events. The buildings can be booked individually or together for larger events. They are situated at the edge of the campus.

TheatreThe Vernon Theatre has a capacity of 244 with tiered seating. The theatre has an excellent sound system and two screens. There is a flat-floored area at the front of the theatre with a small step up to a platform with presentation lectern. The theatre also includes a fitted induction loop.

Meeting / Training RoomsVernon Buildings have a range of flexible rooms which can be adapted to a variety of styles. Rooms are suitable for meetings, training sessions, or can be used in conjunction with the theatre for conferences.

FOSTER BUILDINGFoster Building is situated next to Harris Building. This building is a great location for city centre events and can be booked in conjunction with the Harris Building to provide a conference venue with syndicate rooms.

TheatresFoster Building has the largest collection of theatres in one location here at the Preston City Campus. Three of the theatres are situated next to each other with a foyer area. They are tiered theatres with a flat-floored area at the front of each theatre. Each has a presentation lectern with digital equipment and screen. Theatres 2 and 3 have a capacity of 124 and theatre 4 can accommodate 151.

Cinema/TheatreThe cinema/theatre can accommodate 119 and is a tiered theatre situation on the ground floor close to the Learning Zone. There is a large stage area at the front and presentation lectern with equipment on the flat-floored area of the room. The cinema/theatre has an excellent sound and vision system for both presentations and screening films. This is an ideal venue for product launches, presentations, award ceremonies and small productions. The cinema/theatre can be booked in conjunction with the Learning Zone area in Foster Building to make an ideal conference venue in the City Centre.

The Learning ZoneThe flexible dining and events area can accommodate 325 seated. This versatile venue can also give organisers an ideal city centre location for exhibitions, presentations, awards ceremonies, large meetings and dining. The Learning Zone is situated on the ground floor of the Foster Building close to the cinema.

WEST CUMBRIA – THE PERFECT VENUE: SAMUEL LINDOW BUILDING, WESTLAKESThe coastal region of West Cumbria has a fascinating industrial history, which can be discovered in local museums and Heritage Centres. Located on the Westlakes Science and Technology Park in West Cumbria, the UCLan Westlakes Campus Samuel Lindow Building offers state-of-the-art facilities.

A Venue with VersatilityThrough the activities of the business incubation and support facility UCLan Westlakes is a focal point for innovation and business development in the area. This venue provides conference, exhibition, and meeting facilities to ensure the campus is an asset to the local community, businesses, the policy community, and social enterprises.

Hospitality Here at Conference and Events we work closely with our hospitality provider Banks Wilson Catering who deliver a range of food and beverages at the Samuel Lindow Building, Westlakes Campus. This independent catering company offers a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service. Working together with them, we can provide a full variety of hospitality packages ranging from a full conference catering package to working lunch options.

Presentation Theatre The tiered theatre seats up to 106 with excellent acoustics and high quality audio visual equipment available on request. The theatre has a small stage area with a presentation lectern. It is situated on the ground floor. A foyer space is also available ideal for an exhibition space or registration.

Meeting/Training Rooms Our meeting and training rooms are located close to the theatre on the first floor and are ideal for breakout areas and seminar rooms.

Computer Suite We have a computer suite on the first floor which can accommodate 32 in a classroom style and is ideal for computer training sessions.
