Test Out - What is it and should I do so?

Test Out Purpose

Students typically test out of a

course to create room in their

schedule for another course (this

is done as a means of advancing

in the curriculum).

A Google Form Request will be available for students in mid-May

Pay refundable deposit and pick-up test out materials during the last

week of school

Self-study 18 weeks of curriculum and take an exam (must earn 78% or higher) on August 3rd or August 5th

Finalized lists will be sent to counselors - students are

encouraged to speak to their band/choir teachers for

further information about their placement.

Which science class should I take?

These are the recommended

sequences for science:

Physical Science/Biology/Earth Science

OR

Biology/Chemistry/Physics

*Changes to this recommendation can be

made on an individual basis

● AP Physics, Physics, and Earth

Science can be taken in 11th

or 12th grade.

● If prerequisites are met,

students can take more than

one science course during the

school year.

Which math class should I take?

If in Algebra I, select Geometry

If in Geometry, see your teacher for input

regarding Algebra II or Algebra II Honors

Please Note - Algebra II Honors is faster paced and covers more

concepts. Students who take Algebra II Honors have the

intent of taking advanced math courses throughout high school

(Ex - Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus)

Which math class should I take?

If in Algebra II, Algebra II Honors, FST, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, or AP Statistics, see

your teacher for input regarding your next math

class

● All 12th graders must have a senior math experience.○ Personal Finance,

Business Accounting, Business Management, and the Wilson Talent Center can be used for this experience

The 2021-22 Course Request form will be inactive after the May 10, 2021 deadline

- those who did not submit a course request form will have their courses

assigned to them by Mrs. Brunnschweiler and Mr. Lepper.

*Please be sure to select the correct graduating class and to make thoughtful

decisions. The courses you list on the Google Form are the classes that you will

be scheduled for during the 2021-22 school year.

2021-2022 Final Schedules

Once course requests are submitted, the Counseling

and Administrative Departments will work

together to create the Master Schedule.

All students will be auto-scheduled by our Skyward student information system.

Students will not be participating in online scheduling.

Student schedules will be released the first week of August through Skyward

Student Access. There will be a drop/add request period for students following the

release of their 2021-22 schedule.
