Message from Vice Chancellor’s Desk
I am honored and feel very privileged to be the Principal of Community College of Skill
Development (CCSD). My commitment to our community is to lead the CCSD with enthusiasm
and passion to enable us to reach our goals.
In CCSD our main focus is to specifically empower the rural youth of India who lack the
resources, skills, and opportunities to continue with higher education by providing certification,
Advanced Diploma and vocational education and trainings (VET) in different sectors. The VET
will create skilled workforce while providing them ample opportunities to lead a respectful and
independent life amongst its urban peers.
It is necessary to empower them to negotiate several issues that confront them, with the teacher
being a facilitator.
I have an open door policy and urge all parents to take this opportunity to discuss any issue with
me so that we can move forward together.
With experienced and dedicated teachers and excellent infrastructure, our college helps students
to realize their goals in life. I encourage all students to take advantage of the opportunities
provided by the college and involve themselves in all the activities that are offered. The overall
development of the mind and body is a sign of a healthy and complete development.
“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future”.
Remember “The reward of every good action will be good only”.
I, on behalf of CCSD family welcome all the students and wish all the best for achieving greater
success and scaling new heights in the coming session.

From Principal s' Desk...
It is my proud privilege to warmly welcome all the students of Community College of Skill
Development(CCSD)to the academic year 2018-19.
CCSD is dedicated to develop skilled students who can pursue their interests and strengths to the
best of their ability so that our enriched students merge into society building a strong generation
for a better world tomorrow. Creating better human beings' is our motto and we can do that
when we are able to mould our students to be good human beings with values which are
embedded for life. We aim to provide an overall development that nurtures them towards
becoming strong and focused human beings. The main focus of CCSD is to empower students
with sound knowledge, wisdom, experience and training in the highly competitive global
industrial market.
As we look into the future, one thing is certain – Skilled manpower will be a key resource and will
be highly sought after within India and around the Globe. Our challenge in CCSD is to generate
ideas that will ultimately benefit the society by providing quality skill development and to train
people to work in fields where they will be valued for their specialized knowledge and skill.
Here we provide an atmosphere to our students for multifaceted development, where students
are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. This can only be
possible in a holistic, student-centric environment. The talents, skills, and abilities of each student
need to be identified, nurtured, and encouraged so that he / she is able to reach greater heights.
“All odds, all challenges and all handicaps of life can be overcome with strong determination,
persistent hard work, insurmountable patience and unshakeable tenacity”
My best wishes to the new students entering Community College of Skill Development.

CHAPTER – 13ASSESMENT
30
The Skill component of the course will be assessed and certified by the respective Sector Skill Councils. In case there is no Sector Skill Council for a specific trade, the assessment may be done by allied Sector Council or the Industry partner. The certifying bodies may comply with and obtain accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) set up under Quality Council of India (QCI). Wherever the university/college may deem fit, it may issue a joint certificate with the respective Sector Skill Councils.
The credits regarding skill component will be awarded in terms of NSQF level certification which will have 60% weight age of total credits of the course in following manner.
• Certificate courses : NSQF level 4 - 18 credits
• Diploma courses : NSQF level 5 - 36 credits
• Advanced diploma courses : NSQF level 6 - 72 credits
• B. Voc. Courses : NSQF Level 7 – 120 Credits
The general education component will be assessed by the Community College of Skill Developments themselves. The following formula may be used for the credit calculation in general education component of the courses:
• General Education credit refers to a unit by which the course work is measured. It determines the number of hours of instructions required per week. One credit is equivalent to one hour of teaching (lecture or (Tutorial) or two hours of practical work/field work per week. Accordingly, one Credit would mean equivalent of 14-15 periods of 60 minutes each or 28 – 30 hrs.of workshops / labs.
• For internship / field work, the credit weight age for equivalent hours shall be 50% of that for lectures / tutorials.
• For self-learning, based on e-content or otherwise, the credit weight age for equivalent hours of study shall be 50% of that for lectures / tutorials.
• The award of 'Certificate', 'Diploma' or 'Advanced Diploma' to the successful learners in both skills and general education components of the curriculum may be done.
• The CCs should adopt and integrate the guidelines and recommendations of the respective Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) for the assessment and evaluation of the vocational component, wherever available.
• Letter Grades and Grade Points: The UGC recommends a 10-point grading system with the following letter grades as given below:
1: Grades and Grade Points
O (Outstanding) 10
A+ (Excellent)
A (Very Good)
B+ (Good)
B (Above Average)
C (Average)
P (Pass)
F(Fail)
AB (Absent)

• A student obtaining Grade F shall be considered failed and will be required to reappear in the examination.
• Computation of SGPA and CGPA: Following procedure to compute the Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) may be adopted:
• The SGPA is the ratio of sum of the product of the number of credits with the grade points scored by a student in all the course components taken by a student and the sum of the number of credits of all the courses undergone by a student, i.e
SGPA (Si) = (Ci x Gi) / Ci
Where 'Ci' is the number of credits of the ith course component and 'Gi' is the grade point scored by the student in the ith course component.
The CGPA is also calculated in the same manner taking into account all the courses undergone by a student over all the semesters of a programme, i.e. CGPA = (Ci x Si) / Ci
Where 'Si' is the SGPA of the ith semester and Ci is the total number of credits in that semester.
• The SGPA and CGPA shall be rounded off to 2 decimal points and reported in the transcripts.
