Coffee loves warm, partly shady environments (who doesn't?) with 60-80 inches of rain fall each year. It can grow in tropical and subtropical climates - usually no more than 1,000 miles from the equator. As weather patterns change around the world, we're noticing that the coffee harvest cycle is also shifting. So, what does that mean for coffee crops? What happens when the dry season suddenly has unprecedented rainfall? We're still learning about the implications of the changing climate. We do know that sourcing from small-scale producers who use sustainable farming methods is more important than ever. Here's a look at our partners' harvest seasons.
