Project OASIS Goals
Goal 1: Increase the number of Hispanics and other low income students obtaining degrees in STEM fields.
Goal 2: Develop model transfer articulation agreements in science and other STEM fields.

Learning Space Renovations
Course Redesign
Every-Other-Weekend -College (EOWC)
Learning Space Renovations(First Six Months Progress Report)
Visited Our Lady of the Lake and Lone Star College to begin benchmarking for CBC renovations.
Met with VWR International & drafted renovation plans for C-129 and C-122 in Beeville.
Year one renovations in Beeville scheduled to begin May 2012 and be completed by August 2012.
Course Redesign(First Six Months Progress Report)
Faculty Designers have been selected.
Course Design contracts for year one have been drafted and approved.
Faculty Designers have received training in developing student learning outcomes and using blended course designs.
Every-Other-Weekend-College(First Six Months Progress Report)
Danny Garcia hired as EOWC Coordinator.
E.O.W.C. Website created.
Visited with Our Lady of the Lake University to explore articulation agreements.
E.O.W.C. will begin the Fall of 2012 in Beeville and Alice.

Develop support services for science and STEM field students to increase course
retention, college persistence, and graduation
Objective #2: Performance Measures
Provide support services to science students
Hire Science Learning Skill Specialists
Hire Science Case Managers
Objective #2: Progress Report Tammy White is the
Science Learning Skills Specialist in Beeville. An additional SLSS will be hired in the summer of 2012.
Amy Gonzales was hired as the Beeville Science Case Manager. Two additional SCM will be hired in the summer of 2012.
Goal #1: Project Objective #3
Increase CBC faculty/professional developmental opportunities.
Objective #3: Performance Measures Provide course redesign
and instructional technology training to full-time science faculty.
OASIS personnel will attend a NACADA Institute.
NACADA training in retention and advising will be provided to science faculty and advisors.
Objective #3: Progress Report Faculty have received
training in student learning outcomes and blended course design.
Additional training is
scheduled for Spring and Summer 2012.
Four OASIS personnel will attend NACADA training in July 2012 and will subsequently provide faculty & staff workshops.
Goal #2: Project Objective #1
Expand degree transfer articulation agreements in science and other STEM
fields.
Objective #1: Performance Measures Increase the number
of university articulation agreements by five.
Obtain commitments from three universities to provide faculty/staff participation in OASIS Project Activities.
Objective #1: Progress ReportPreliminary
articulation discussions have taken place with TAMU-SA and OLLU.
TAMU-SA faculty
have tentatively agreed to assist with designing modules for biology majors courses.
