TRADING UPDATEAfter a steady start in January, trading momentum has built throughout the quarter. I note that our restaurants have traded steadily throughout the quarter with members taking advantage of the membership renewal promotion. Another positive outcome has been the substantial reduction in creditors throughout the quarter. All bank covenants have been met.The new Government laws to combat drunken violence in the CBD area have impacted our Club. The Government Lockouts from 1:30am, introduced on 10 February 2014, has affected our Club gaming resulting in a reduction in Gaming revenue of $780,000 per annum for 2014 and beyond.CTC is the only club in New South Wales that has to accommodate this new law due to our location within the CBD (new Sydney CBD entertainment precinct) and due to our extended trading hours that we offer to members and guests. After nine (9) weeks of reduced trade, we have allowed for a $780,000 reduction in Gaming revenue per annum at this stage. We believe this amount will increase over time. The Club has received many comments from members and guests who have been refused entry after 1:30am since commencement. They very openly comment that they will now change their habit and no longer visit CTC but will

now visit the Casino or a number of other clubs or pubs who operate outside of the new Sydney CBD entertainment precinct. They have shared the names of all venues that they intend to visit.CTC intends to alert the NSW Government of this situation that is occurring, as we believe that this was not the Government’s intention. We hope that in time this situation is rectified by way of equal legislation for all entertainment venues, including clubs and pubs! This situation reflects again the importance of the Club’s proposed Airspace Development for the future of our Club!

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGDon’t forget that the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in the Celebrity Room on Tuesday 27 May 2014 at 6:00pm.If you are able to attend, please do so. The Club’s Annual Report and Statement of Accounts for 2013 and the outlook for 2014 and beyond will be presented. The Business of the 2014 Annual General Meeting is also advertised in this magazine.

LIFE MEMBERS LUNCHAs usual, a resolution will be put to members at the AGM to elect new Life Members with 40 years continuous

AIRSPACE DEVELOPMENT UPDATEI would like to thank members for attending the last Airspace Briefing Meeting (4) along with visiting the Club website, and viewing the newly installed Members Information Display Area near the entrance to the Lower Bar. Members will have the choice to attend the final Airspace Briefing Meeting during the evening on 26 June or the day time on Monday 30 June. Please note the date changes for Airspace Briefing Meeting 5 to 8, along with the proposed members vote period.I would like to refer all members to pages 8 - 21 of this magazine for more information on the proposed development including indicative floor plans of the future Club, member communication dates for all remaining meetings along with the proposed voting timelines. The Club will endeavour to meet the proposed timelines, however, these dates maybe extended to ensure members receive all pertinent information regarding the proposed development.

TIERED LOYALTY SYSTEMIn 2014 the City Tattersalls Club will be launching a four tiered loyalty program called ‘Stature Rewards’. The proposed development comprises a 48-floor building with mixed use potential, including seven floors of upgraded member facilities, a new state-of-the-art fitness centre, top rating day spa and a fine-dining terrace restaurant on level 7. It also includes a 100-room hotel from levels 8 - 13 and private apartments over 34 floors.

The proposed development has been created to provide members with the following benefits:

• Upgradedandnewfacilities

• Ownershipofa100roomhotel

• Completenewofferingforlocal, interstateand international members - a total change to the Club’s business model

• PrivateapartmentssupportingtheCity Tattersalls Club offerings and giving greater presence in Sydney

• Signagenamingrightsontopofthetower

The proposed development is part of an ongoing Controlled Development Plan commenced in 2004, which included a comprehensive program of works to improve the Club’s facilities for existing and new members.

There is no doubt that Sydney’s CBD is highly competitive, particularly in regards to gaming. We believe the proposed development will help reduce the Club’s dependence on gaming by providing an array of new facilities and services. We hope the new offerings will attract local, interstate and international members and visitors to the Club.

Mirvac was selected as the preferred developer for the proposed development. Mirvac will draw on its expertise and strong track record in major CBD developments to deliver the most innovative and best quality facilities for your enjoyment. We will be working closely with a leader in the development and construction industry. Importantly, by broadening our Club’s offering we will lift our competitiveness in the CBD and secure our Club’s long-term endurance and prosperity.

In the coming months we will continue to engage members about the proposed development plan, including the history of our progress to date and field questions before a formal member vote proposed for July this year. In the following pages you will find information about the proposed development plan.

MAH-JONG Mah-Jong is a tile game that originated in China and requires skill, strategy and calculation. The game is played with a set of 152 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. Each player begins by receiving thirteen tiles, then players draw and discard tiles until they complete a legal hand using the fourteenth drawn tile to form four groups and a pair. We welcome new players to join in this fun, entertaining game.
